It's called a blepharospasm it's an involuntary movement. Try a deep breath in & out ...eye drops to relieve irritation, and yoga to relax. There is a shot, but it will have to be taken again.

Yes sometimes get twitching eyes when I'm tired -- usually in the right eye for some reason. It's a weird sensation.

Twitching in various parts of the body are a common symptom of anxiety. The twitches seem to move around sometimes. Nothing to be overly concerned about.

It truly is annoying, but the key is to simply accept it and eventually it will stop. Mine did.

You really need to get more sleep. That is not enough. Have you spoken to your doctor about your sleeping? You might need something mild to help you sleep better. You could also try drinking chamomile tea and listening to sleep-inducing music; there are some excellent sleep/calm music videos on youtube. I also have a small snack before I go to bed, wear socks, use a heavy blanket...all of which help with sleeping - and I use black-out curtains and no noise in the bedroom, other than calming music.

I'm on 10 mg of Nortriptyline. 50 mg seems a bit robust.

Hardluck in reply toGloria_carr

Anxiety/depression. I've tried them all. Amitriptyline was great for sleep, but I put on 10 kgs in 6 weeks.

Great! I really hope these things work for you. Getting a good night's sleep is important for so many reasons - both physical and mental. I used to sleep without socks, but since sleeping with socks and a heavier blanket, I sleep more soundly...as well as the calming music, tea, etc. All the best. I hope you have a very restful week of sleep!
