The studies for depression are relatively new. So that being sad there isn't a definite answer to that question.

Many doctors do believe there is a natural cure. What I have been told for a natural cure is to be healthy. Not just in one way. Inside and out. You must have your body working in order. You can't eat unhealthy foods. And you must workout on an everyday or almost everyday basis. This is just what I have been told by my GP. I have heard many other theories to, but they all consist of those things. Being healthy and working out.

I personally think there is more to it. Not saying medicine is needed.

I have seen someone in person who had terrible anxiety most of the time I knew him. All the sudden it went away. He tried medicine but it never worked. He got frustrated and quit. He ended up finding a supplement that took care of his anxiety. He seems like a different guy now. I'm sure he still gets anxious. But not like me, and not like how he used to be.

Have you talked to your doctor about some natural remedies that may help.

I know you were asking about depression and I answered with something about anxiety but anxiety often makes people depressed and he really was having a tough time. And It was something that for sure made me feel like medicine can't be the only answer.

Hi Thank You for your response. You may be correct because I have a friend that had anxiety and depression but it went away after she changed her diet and exercises regularly. I guess this may be the only way for now besides meds. Thanks ☺

Lol too funny no way. My problem was drinking too much alcohol. I didn't realize it but every weekend I was drunk and then I started drinking wine through the week.

Alcohol is pretty toxic. I use it only on 'special' occasions, maybe a few times a year. There is increased risk of cancer from using ethanol, I understand this is due to its breakdown products.

Drinking makes anxiety worst because of the sugar Google alcohol and anxiety I am well educated on my condition

It's horrible and sometimes I want wine but I'm afraid it'll make me feel crazy. I stopped drinking almost 10 months ago but I had a couple of drinks in the beginning of July. Are you maintaining your anxiety right now?

Our brains are chemically unbalanced the gaba and the serotonin which causes us to go in to panic mode when there is nothing to fear the key is not to panic even more u are not going to die I no it feel like u are having a heart attack but u are not.deep breath if u breath correctly it will pass fast

Certain foods help too like nuts, fish, anything containing tryptophan and also things like bananas because they contain potassium.

You need to be totally healthy. That means you must have high-normal levels of all hormones, must not have nutritional deficiencies, must not have had environmental exposures that have caused high levels of heavy metals, toxic industrial compounds, etc. in your body.

One thing I find particularly perplexing is that the average MD does not know (or does not care) that a proper level of active thyroid hormone (T3) is a hugely effective anti-depressant. Docs like Kent Holtorf have harped and harped on this, but the message isn't getting through to the average doctor. Consequently, there are a lot of people out there who are on patent drugs (typically anti-depressants), and who have not had comprehensive hormone and nutritional evaluation done.

Thank You for your response. To get back to the healthy levels I wonder if a detox will help.

Depends on what you mean by "detox"! Lots of naturopaths have detoxes that are based on various combinations of herbs. But if I had high levels of mercury and needed to "detox", I would prefer chelation therapy from a recognized expert.
