I feel like I'm in a daze. When I'm suppose to sleep I can't and when I'm suppose to be awake I'm fighting to stay awake. I can't win !

I'm in the same boat and have been for years. I'm a natural night owl too! I've started taking low dose anxiety meds an hour before bed that help. The trick is finding the right one.
One thing that may help is to drink more water and possibly walk about 1 mile each day if you aren't already exercising. I found that caffeine has a much bigger impact on me than I thought. But like you, I also have trouble with sleeping and waking up. Do you have a nighttime routine - like taking a hot shower, reading a book, journaling? It may also help once you are in bed to practice progressive muscle relaxation.. start at your toes, calves, upper thighs, buttocks, hands, forearms, upper arms, shoulders, and then finally scrunching your face up and then release. It doesn't take forever - and i often move to deep breathing until I fall asleep.
