Of all the things that I've tried... and I've tried quite a bunch of things these past few months since I relapsed, I'd have to say a nice hot mug of chamomile tea really works at calming me down, at least for a while. In regards to a few supplements/vitamins that you might want to try, my mental health provider suggested L-Theanine, Fish Oil, lavender oil, and Acetyl L Carnitine to name a few. I can't say for sure if any (or all) of them are helping to reduce my anxiety/depression or not, as I'm currently just into my second week of starting Lexapro and feeling slighlty wonky, but they couldn't hurt to try! Best of luck...

I have a friend who says his anxiety was alleviated by 5-htp. I have yet to try it.

Please consult your doctor before trying it though.

All of the above and valarian and st johns wort, although you ask for advice if you are taking anti- depressants and wanting to take st johns at the same time.

...and magnesium, look up the better absorbed types like Magnesium bisglycinate. Magnesium is supposed to be calming. I'm sleeping better taking it.
