Today was not such a good day. I was really feeling down because I have not landed a job after graduation, 5 months ago. This has not gone the way that I had planned and I am thoroughly frustrated. I worked extremely hard to earn my degree and I just want it to pay off.

but it takes everybody 6 months on average to find a job after finishing school. my friend traveled for a little while. cant do that when you find your job
This is a common situation nowadays unfortunately. You will get there but it will take time. For all you know your dream job might come knocking on your door today.
In the meantime why not take any reasonable job you can get? At least you will be working and your self esteem will go up. It's often easier to get another job whilst in work too.

I work full-time, I am self-employed. I went back to school in hopes of increasing my earning potential. I have never owned a home and it is something I would like to do in the near future.
Well you have a lot going for you then. You are working and earning even if not enough. Well done for going back to school. I did that too and it wasn't easy.
As far as owing my own home I was living in London then back in the 80's and my employer offered a very cheap deposit for home purchasing. I was lucky there. I took this and looked everywhere and worked out there were only 2 flats in London I could afford. I bought one of them. The first few years I was extremely poor and remember living for 5 days on potatoes, rice, and bread fortunately gifted to me by a neighbour who was moving! I had to get a part time job as well. I still own a home and am very grateful for the good start I had.
Good luck on owning yours. It's something to work towards.
