Hi......I'm also in the same age group as u . I live a very lonely life too & have had OCD for years . A friend & I are trying to start up a support group of like minded people to go places together & have "fun" & share our fears & dreams & to be mutually supportive to each other...Be true friends. I am a professional , now retired due to a crumbling spine. I am not anxious or nervous & have never suffered from depression/anxiety or perhaps I have but never been diagnosed. So if u want to get in touch , talk....a problem shared is a problem.......I look forward to hearing from u . JC

The root of OCD is anxiety isn't it?

Hi nice to meet you. The age range on here is from 16 - 100 so we have all ages. How can we help you? I doubt whether you will find a site specifically between 50 and 60 age group.

Hi again we were speaking to a 15 year old boy recently :)

in reply to

Who was that then? If I suspect they are under age I always ask them how old they are. I seem to be the only one who ever does that. Or I report it as possible under age and let the admins deal with it.

Few here seem to be either aware of the rules or believe they should follow them and start giving them advice.

I think the site should be more closely monitored by the admins as sometimes I resent doing their work for them! I once reported 2 posts in a few days as they had said they are underage but loads replied to them anyway.

I feel strongly about the protection of children on an adult site and worry about their safety and the possibility of grooming as after all this is a public site.

Most people don't seem to lock their posts either which means the post and all the replies can appear in full anywhere on the web for anyone to read. If they are locked then only the first couple of lines of the post appear, and none of the replies.

Hi I dont mind 15 year olds being on here and they are very mature thease days and I myself dont have anything to hide.

This boys mum comes on then sometimes he appears himself.

I dont mind helping them - i had depression once at 13 but there were no pcs then but i sure wish there had have been. i felt sooo alone.

All The Best i cant immagine any grooming going on here-just help and presciouse info :)

There are lots of sites for young people to go on these days and they are much more closely monitored than adult sites. This is for the protection of the minor. They should not be on an adult site which isn't geared for their protection.

It is also part of the terms of membership on any HU site, which everyone has signed up to, that you have read the terms and conditions. If you break the rules you risk being banned on here.

I think there mit be a gap in the HU for 60s only - what do you think ! ? :)

Hi Hidden ,

While we understand and strongly believe that all people should be able to gain knowledge and information regarding their health and well-being, we do have to enforce a 16 years and over age restriction.

The reason we have this rule in place is because all of the advice on the site is anonymous and mostly not professional. Some of our users may not consider the different needs of younger members, and often, it's easy to misunderstand what someone means.

We ask our users to report any posts they believe to be shared by an underaged user via the report function from the drop-down menu. This allows us to remove their account and send an email advising the younger users to try and arrange a meeting with their GP to discuss their health concerns. We also link them to other organisations better equipped with supporting young people.

We appreciate your support and understand with this.

Best wishes,

Maddie

Hi I hadnt read all the terms and conditions-if i had to read all that stuff I am sure I would never get out the house and see day-light ever again and of course i always advise that they see their GP. their have been a pumper amount of folks on here recently who have reached the end of their rope and I think are suicidel.

I have been that way myself down the years; starting from a very early age.

While i am NOT a profesional I do undrerstand More than some GPs what hell they are going through

Very best wishes :)

Mature adults, including myself, are here. No worries about that. Welcome aboard.

I had been worried about that too when I first joined this venue. :)

I have joined other sites that all I talked to was very young people. We all have basically have the same problems but each generation is different

Here is another older person. I am 51. Been struggling with depression and anxiety since my teens. Feel free to share your issues and concerns. We are all in this crazy world together. Welcome.

I am definitely between the two. I found this site due to GAD. I wanted to learn more about it. I find myself sometimes as I say, going down the rabbit hole.

I recently lost my Dad. Actually in the last 5 years I have lost so many friends. Some days it's just this stage/age in life.

I cherish my friends and of course am somewhat lost at finding myself without their support and friendship.

There was NO bible content there - it was a hymn that is sung by the congregation when a little Baby is baptised :) it is lovely and i wish I could send you the music for it :)

This is bible content - Jesus said " let the weeds grow with the tares; in the end they will be pulled up and thrown onto the fire like chaff.

peace and blessings to you PS " I am not to get cought-up in foolish arguments and, when it is up to me I am to keep the peace at all times " Jesus-I am set apart for better things- eg to increase the KINGDOM of GOD-if I dont; you will all perish and, GOD wants us ALL to be saved-if we dont tell people how will they know and how will thet find out ??

God is being banned from just about everywere and; that is what is wrong with the world!

I wish EVERYONE would wake-up before it is too late-in a short while there will be standing room only !

As anyone is equally welcome here no matter what their religion or whether they are an atheist, I am just saying I don't think it is appropriate or respectful to bang on about Christianity. It must put others of different faiths off joining in feeling welcome.

I don't think this site is just for Christians to put Christian prayers or passages from the bible on that's all. There are plenty of Christian sites where it is appropriate but this is an anxiety and depression site not a religious one.

I am happy for you and your beliefs but I for one don't happen to share them. Nor do many others and you have to respect that.
