I think this question might be best to ask a psychiatrist; it takes a special license to prescribe psychiatric meds, and I don't feel comfortable recommending any with my limited knowledge.

All medicines work differently for everyone. Like AlexSZ said, it is something that you need to consult your doctor on. They will have the best advice for you.
It's different for everybody who needs the medication. There is no single answer to that. It all depends on what is best and works the best for you.
