Hi I'm a 34 year female. I was recently prescribed Lexipro for depression. I have not started it because I'm worried about side effects. Does anyone have experience with this medication?

Hi :) I have taken Lexipro and did not experience any negative side effects. Unfortunately I did experience any positive ones either lol. My suggestion is that you give it a try, it may work great for you. If it works, that's wonderful, if it doesn't you can always try something else. Remember to be patient with yourself, finding the right medication can take time. Best of luck to you hun :)

Thanks so much for the insight and reply. This is all very new to me so any advice is much appreciated. I'm hoping the med and therapy can help me work this out. Also finding this forum has really helped me feel that I'm not alone!

Yes, it works. At 1st you may have some side effects but they mostly fade away after a few weeks. I don't remember them at all. The only lasting one is that you don't get a normal climax sexually. It's kind of muted. But it's worth it to feel good and to feel normal again in every other way. If you feel good and then that feeling fades, you simply need to increase your dose a little. Let the doctor know how you feel and he/she will make the increase.
