Why is it that around this time that you are expected to feel joyous IF times are tough? Some of us cannot make ends meet. That overrides being joyous right now I think. I'm waiting for December 26.

The holidays are a tough time for many people. I think it's mostly due to the expectations that we put on ourselves. That's how it was for me anyway. I finally got past feeling that I "should" have a certain type of holiday but it took a while. I think the best way is to just have the type of holiday that works for you and disregard what others think about it; we never really know what's going on in other people's lives anyway. They may go all out at Christmas and spend the rest of the year struggling to pay off credit card debt. December 26th will be here in no time at all.
