Does anyone else suffer from seborrheic dermatitis, or a folliculitis with AMN. The dermatologists tell me its more common with Parkinsons but its absolutely maddening and no longer responds to ketaconazole treatments. Losing so much scalp hair, and as a woman this is desperate.
I'm told only longterm skin antibiotics would ease the situation. The itching drives one crazy, I have to wash my hair daily throughout the hotter months. I also inherited this from my dad although he was never seriously affected by it.

I haven't suffered from this although a few months ago I had what my daughter said was cradle cap . It took about 5 weeks to go with special shampoo and it was very itchy. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this.
Yes, its a real nuisance, along with other issues. I'm glad to hear your cradle cap has cleared up, they say that's related to seb. derm. I gather its a problem with babies along with adults.
I have just googled it and yes you are right it is the same thing. It looks like it is called cradle cap when it relates to babies. It also affected me during the hot summer. Are you better in the winter?
Usually yes but not this year. Its a problem in this cooler weather which is unusual. Its a nightmare in a hot, tropical climate, it gets so much worse when sweating. I have to wash hair daily in the summer months. I would guess it gets worse as one ages, like many things!
Hello Mariagno, We don't get Scalpicin in Europe/UK but if Zyrtec helps then I'd guess It may be an allergic response. For Seborrheic dermatitis they'd suggest using ketaconzole shampoo, Nizoral in the UK, otherwise my hairdresser refers to as 'the pink stuff'. Good for all yeast irritations unless one has an extreme problem. I have a folliculitis, infection of hair follicles so my only other option is to live off antibiotics.
One can buy the ketaconazole shampoo over the counter in the UK but its only available on prescription in France.
Hello! I've been diagnosed with Ecxema (atopic dermatitis) which can be itchy, but not as bad as what you have. Mine is on my scalp and I was given a steroid liquid to use when it raises its ugly head - using it nightly for a week, off for the next week and then apply again for another week. That takes care of mine for a short while, then I start over.
Hi JoAnn, I got to the French GP a few days ago and she diagnosed Eczema, (French spelling), across my eyebrows although she didn't argue with the seb. term. diagnosis. I don't do things by halves! Its easing now but it appears I'm reacting to the seb. term. treatment. The scalp itch drives me nuts but the GP says to wash my hair daily until it eases. I'm glad your dermatitis is responding. I wonder if it's an allergy to something. Best wishes,
Good question, Catrick! Went for a haircut today and she said that she didn't see any red patches or scaly skin ... one treatment and done? We'll see. I'm ready if/when it recurs!
