COVID brain impact similar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Apart from the AMN, I am generally healthy and not particularly worried about Covid. Maybe because I had my three vaccines and always wear a mask outdoors.

I do, however, have one friend who had Long Covid for over a year. And I have posted here before about various of these diseases having unknown effects upon the brain, like the sharp increase in Parkinson's cases following the 1918 influenza pandemic.

Anyway, if there is one thing that debilitates me more than the spasticity, or the chronic constipation, or the neurogenic bladder, it is the fatigue.

No doctor has ever taken it seriously, "Take vitamins" was one nugget of advice. Otherwise it was try anti-depressants.

Google put me onto Amantadine, which used to work, or maybe I've developed a tolerance. I couldn't get prescribed Methylphenidate. Modafinil works to a good extent but my insurance wouldn't pay for it so I have to buy online.

I still don't know if Neurological Fatigue and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are one and the same.

But Neurological Fatigue is a recognised symptom of many neurological diseases.

Just not recognised by any neurologist I have ever met, as they insist on handing out Valium and Baclofen.

More money poured into fatigue research is fine by me, I'll take any fruits of that while I wait for a cure to come along.
