I have posted something similar to this before, but I'll expand on it slightly. I used to love smoking weed back in the day. Loved it, couldn't imagine life without it. I always saw the whole "medical marijuana" as just a cop out for people to get stoned.
Then I stopped for about 18 years. But the whole American decriminalisation thing was happening and really picking up towards the end.
Anyway, in 2017, I returned from a long stay in Singapore and just out of curiosity, I had another try on the damn dope. Made me sleepy, hardly enjoyable, I couldn't understand what I ever saw in it. But, it did 100% wipe out the neuropathy, and it dialed down the spasms from the usual 11 to a 3. For that alone, it was worth sucking down all that smoke,
Then I went to China, I am no fool, no dope for me over there.
But I flew to London in January and promptly got back on it. I took my time this time, played around with dosages, frequency, etc, and I have to say it's excellent. Far, far superior to gabapentin, and it wipes the floor with Benzo's.
Gets me really, really stoned though. So what? I watched two seasons of The Crown in as many days. Thoroughly enjoyable nonsense.
i have given a lot of thought as to why it works, and it could be a straight up medicinal action. Could be.
Or it might just twist up my mind so I just don't care about the pins and needles, achy legs, spasms, pain, et al.
Side effects. Better get used to them. At least with the Modafinil, it just gives me a dry mouth. Baclofen was like electric shocks running through my body, gabapentin gives me diarrhoea in hefty doses, Lyrica turns my legs to jelly, benzo's turn me into a zombie. All things considered, the side effects of dope aren't too bad.
Anyway, I'll be back in Singapore soon. No more wacky baccy for me. No desire to end up on the six o'clock news.
I tried some cheap CBD from Amazon a few years back, I might spring for some, more higher-end stuff. May be a decent compromise.
Dope is pretty mainstream in the MS community, but then there are so many people with that disease. No real consensus with AMN.
