Cancer treatment with A m n

Hi everyone does anyone know if cancer treatment I e chemotherapy would give the same results with a lady carrying the amn/ Ald gene or different.

Hi, I had breast cancer 2014-15, with a year of chemo/radiation and at that time I did not know I was a carrier of the ALD gene. When I finished my treatment at Sloan-Kettering in New York City , was when we noticed the major decline in our son’s walking and had an MRI done on him. At the same time, my niece had a son who was airlifted to CHOP because he exhibited the same symptoms that her previous son had, who passed away without being diagnosed with ALD. Long story made short, her son had a bone marrow transplant but sadly also passed because of complications . I handled the chemo fine and I am 71 years old . I do have neuropathy in bottom of my feet.

HI thankyou for the reply glad to hear you came through the treatment ok with maybe minor side effects, sorry to hear about the boys in the family.My mum starts chemotherapy and radiotherapy in a week so fingers crossed, I am very lucky and do not have the faulty a b c d1 gene but my younger brother has been symptomatic for around 6 years he has a m n best wishes and good health for the future..
