Hi

Had my ablation about three weeks ago, then last week I started feeling slight pain around the insertion area in the groin along with a lump. Since then pain has extended downn the leg and through the foot. Anyone experienced this?

thanks

The lump is a haematoma and will disolve eventually but may take a few weeks and is quite usual.

Pain radiating down leg and to the foot is not so suggest that you contact the arrythmia clinic on the number that you should have been given when discharged and just check with them. It’s probably nothing but best checked.

Best wishes and speedy recovery

The lump would not be unusual but the pain down the leg doesn't sound usual so this needs to be checked out.

That pain in your leg doesn't sound normal, please seek medical advice today just to be on the safe side.

The lump sounds like a haematoma, I had one after an ablation and was convinced a tube had been left inside me, went to see my GP who said it was perfectly normal. I still fretted about it and didn't think he was right, went to A&E who again said haematoma and not to worry.

Thanks! I’ll call them today and check about the pain. Good to know the lump is common.

I wouldn't say a haematoma is common we don't hear too much about them on this forum. I've had 3 ablations and it happened after one of them. My EP apologised when I told him about it. I think just knowing that others have had them is reassuring.

Don't assume it's a haematoma, see your arrhythmia nurse asap. . Search my posts on here to see what the complications could be. If it's either of those then you will need medical intervention. Sorry.
