2 weeks post ablation, insertion site of the catheter was my right femoral vein. Since the procedure the slightest wrong movement has seemed to strain my groin hip area? Anyone else had issues with this? Also I'm might be being lazy here but do see still insert a collagen plug in when they finish?

Groin problems post ablation
Hi Jimmy
Sorry to see you have no positive replies to you query. I had groin problems post ablation but nothing like you describe. Lots of discomfort and swelling for a while but after a few weeks it got better.
Not sure about the Collagen plug and not aware of that. Anyway hope the procedure was a success and Wishing you all the best for the future. Please keep us posted on here of you journey.
Regards
Mo
I'm wrapping myself in cotton wool, think I'm doing the wrong thing really. Just want the ablation to work. Your right though I need to up the physical I think
I had my ablation last Thursday and no problem barely a bruise. Which doesn't help you. 😉
Maybe it is stiffness if you haven't done much activity. Possibly a bruise /heamatoma inside that's not visible. Is the area red or any signs of inflammation? When I was being checked in hospital they looked for swelling or a hard lump If it continues to bother you I'd ring the arrythmia nurse as they will have more experience of post 'op' issues than your GP.

Hi Ectopic
When I wrote my post no one had replied to Jimmy and although I didn't have much positive advice to offer I felt he deserved a reply. Not sure I could recommend walking home from Hospital or walking a couple of miles the next day, the general advice from all on here is rest.
I think you may be stressing yourself out. I had brain surgery through my femoral artery in the groin. I never gave my groin a thought as I was concentrating on my brain. Just a thought. It feels scary that your artery was opened and what if!!!. Try to distract yourself and see how you feel after 24 hours. If its causing you real problems speak to your GP. Good luck.
