Groin Aneurysm Post Ablation

Has anyone experienced a groin aneurysm after ablation? It happened July 3rd and I still have some swelling along with pain. The nasty blue colors are all gone but cannot walk without pain that is like when you press on a bruise.

This sort of thing is quite common but I would have thought it would have settled by now. Ring your arrhythmia nurse and discuss please.

I have an appt with Dr tomorrow afternoon. She first told me 8-10 weeks but it looks like her estimate was off by a few weeks.

I had a huge haematoma from groin to knee that needed aspirating and a 3 day hospital stay. I think it took about 10 weeks to look normal again but it permanently affected the femoral nerve, so I have no feeling along the route. OH keeps checking by tickling my foot!

I have a similar problem- after 2 ablations this year within 5 months - it’s been 3 months since the last ablation and I am still sore and bruised- today my cardiologist checked my pulse up and down my leg, asked if there was any aches in my calf’s and tested the sensation up and down both thighs to compare - all in all - he said it is probably tissue damage / or where blood has built up inside - along muscles ( directly after catheter use) - he said to gently stretch and massage tender areas but could see no concerns - oh and he did tickle my feet too!!🤣

Saw Dr yesterday afternoon. She noticed my leg was swelled up especially around my knee. Also the groin swelling according to her should not be as bad as it still is. So I have to have an ultrasound as soon as insurance sends authorization. She told me not to worry, that a femoral artery aneurysm takes time to heal. Will post results of ultrasound when I get it done.
