So after initially feeling full of positivity I’m struggling here! Has anyone experienced similar please and should I be concerned?
About day 4 after, I have developed pain around site feeling like thousand bee stings and pain from groin right down behind knee and back leg. Like to think I’m ok on the pain threshold but now one week on and reduced me to tears. Saw my gp last night who thinks it’s highly unlikely to be a dvt as I’m on edoxaban and I don’t have heat, swelling or hard lump so she thinks just muscular but if it continues to go to a & e. Still feeling positive re my heart but this is nasty and not sleeping as pain won’t let up! It eases a fraction if I lie on my left side but sends me through the roof when I try to move my legs.
I’m supposed to be going back to work tomorrow and feel 100 times worst than couple days after!!

Why have you not contacted the arrhythmia nurse where the ablation was done. That is what they are there for! Even if they did not provide you with a name, just ringing the department will get you somebody who understands these things. Some discomfort and often a hard lump are quite normal as you will read in our Recovering from Ablation fact sheet but what you describe is not.
Hi Helen, I'm not medically trained at all, but I would guess you have an infection of some sort in your wound. As Bob has suggested, contact your AF nurse. Let us know how you get on please.
Day 13 post ablation. Pain continues but is easing a little. Spoke to arrhythmia nurse and she was concerned it could be a clot so had an ultrasound of groin and leg. Nothing found so that’s a huge relief. Doc in A&E believes it’s due to close proximity of cluster of nerves that have been aggravated and will take time to sort itself out. Stops me in my tracks when I move, twist, stand up if I’ve sat down for a little. Just completely unexpected as 1st ablation had nothing like this. Mentally I know I’m fine and it’s nothing to worry about so when then pain hits I’m breathing through it and telling myself it will go eventually.
On a very positive note my heart is ticking along nicely in NSR and hoping I can wean off the flecanide and beta blockers at my next check!
