Has anyone else tried this New Nordic magic magnesium Malate. I'm taking one tablet a day instead of recommended two. Each tablet has 120mg of magnesium, some b vitamins, which I'm used to but 2 extracts new to me. One has maritime pine bark extract 150mg per 2 tabs and some long pepper extract. I know some herbs react badly with Apixaban . I thought I had a couple more irregular heart rhythm episodes since I started these or is this coincidence maybe connected with recent covid episode?

I’ve never tried to put a link to an article on here before so don’t know if this will work. DOACs and research/ foodstuffs all seems to be about the bleeding risk of things. This link does say that long pepper can potentially increase the bleeding risk.
I believe pepper might be on the list of what people take as a natural blood thinner. You can double check. But anything that does, ups our risk of bleeding unfortunately. So many naturopathic things I used to take do not mix with apixaban. I personally am not willing to take anything that might up my bleed risk. Best of luck. look into it, and if you have a naturopath, you can ask
A friend gave me turmeric tablets to take which I did for two months, I think they helped my joints. When I went to buy some more from Holland and Barrett the assistant asked me straight away if I was on apixaban. I replied yes and she said she was not allowed to sell any turmeric to me as it was a blood thinner and turmeric thins the blood even more.
I had a series of AFIB episodes during and in the months following COVID infection in 2022. When I told my cardiologist during next annual check up he said it was quite common. He also sent me for a cardiac MRI to ensure it didn't result in myocarditis at the time, potentially resulting in scarring of heart. It was all clear. My PAF episodes dropped back to "normal" frequency about 6 months following my COVID infection. The temporary increase could also have been due to other factors but given my cardiologist's comment, it's likely COVID was (largely) to blame.
I did wonder tha, particularly when you hear about those awful cases of long covid. I'm trying to get fit again as I'm surprised how quickly in the afternoon I nod off to sleep. Where I live is a mile to the town centre so walking into town and back is a good exercise. The return journey involves a hill climb so providing I don't carry too much shopping it's a good regime.
