Covid Test Negative

Well after feeling totally grim for a week I had a covid test Monday, which has came back Negative thankfully.

Being a bloke we are super tough with colds and flu and aren't usually susceptible to complaining 😂,...... And.... ..wait for the ladies comments, but a continuous migraine type headache, loss of appetite and aches like your bones had been drilled for a few days had the other half thinking I had Covid, so went for a check more to placate she who is long suffering worries than anything.

I bet a lot of us are going to get that same worry with the cold a flu season now in full swing for its first attempt, still, il keep taking the vitamins and D3 and zinc especially, nice little immune system booster.

Hope everyone is OK, stay safe and be well .

Ian.

I agree, but what I fail to understand is that with all the social distancing, masks and sanitiser how we can even get anything?

Exactly that Bob, I'm strict with what I can be, though my sons going in the Royal Engineers, and he's been at camp in York two weeks ago in prep, so his germy backside may be the instigator as even though he's 17, as a family we are huggers, and maybe daft but it's not something il stop doing, sooner this vaccine is sorted we can relax and get back to life.

You’re right Bob. Flu season it might be, but flu itself is globally almost non-existent (comparatively). Small mercies and all that! As you know, we’re strictly isolating ourselves (due to my husband being in the 98th percentile for not surviving Covid) and every time we get a sniffle we remind ourselves “no, it can’t be a virus”. It’s all rather weird 🙃

Terrific news Ian......hope you feel better soon.....

Thanks FJ, feeling OK today thank you, know what us blokes are like for milking it, just a relief it came back negative as I would of been transferred to the garden shed on order of she who rules, no kidding .

Glad to hear negative result , it could be a tad chilly in the shed ! 🥶

Summer project, literally a shed version of glamping, it's got heating, TV and sofa, enough I'm told to be banished to if I'd milked it anymore, think I'd been making a drama out of a cold or something 😂😉

Both my boys had something similar around early March Ian and took to their beds about two weeks apart. Neither Sam not I had it.

I had what I think was Covid in Jan Bob, same loss of taste, chest diagnosed with a "virus" at the time, knocked me down for near 4 weeks off and on, can't prove either way, but as you say how when we are all masked up and distancing there is any cold / flu is strange.

Ian very glad to hear your test was negative ! Always very worrying waiting for results of any kind. I think these days everyone thinks Covid if they get so much as a sniffle ! Just because it’s not Covid doesn’t mean you are not ill so stay warm and look after yourself

Good to hear you don't have covid Ian. Don't forget, flu can make you feel pretty awful too and in some cases can be worse than covid!

There's nothing like a good old whinge to make you feel better. Get well soon.

I have a cold too, and I am completely baffled, I haven't been near anyone in months. It has just made me more aware that proper shielding is very difficult to accomplish, I am extra careful now.

As you and Bob have said, how we are all still catching anything is baffling.

It's interesting how hospitals are treating COVID testing. Since the end of July I've had four arranged fast tracked procedures in hospital and, a related visit to A&E. The arranged procedures required a COVID swab test by the hospital 48 hours beforehand and, during the A&E admission I was isolated until the test result was confirmed as negative. I had another fast tracked consulation and scan last week, but the only test was for temperature, but the number of people in Outpatients was near-normal. I wonder if my locallity will see a rise in infections?
