worry about covid booster

just wanted to say after being very concerned about having my autumn booster for covid and flu vac because of link to blood clots in earlier days of vaccinations it’s been over a week now and to date no problems with afib or any other symptoms so would recommend having it done I decided after advice on the hub it was much safer to have it than not and risk getting covid or seasonal flu luckily I just got a staff arm and if that’s all il take that thank you all for supporting me with messages

For me, this latest one, and flu jab, has been the most trouble free of all.

Had no issues this time - just slightly tired the day after. The first was by far the worst in terms of fluey symptoms. I think there were concerns about clotting in the initial phase but it's likely (as I understood it from medical reports) that these cases were usually people who'd had underlying and previously undetected medical problems. You're likely on anticoagulants anyway, which presumably helps. Word is that the Pfixer bivalent might retrigger and underlying shingles, but only mildly for a day or two. Happened to a friend of mine, but she's fine now.

That's good to read. The worry is real given the publicity it gets. Blood clots as side effects are vanishingly small in number, though - minuscule. All good here, though, having had flu and covid together with my wife and friends, too - it proved the mildest one yet. There seems to be plenty of covid and other coughs and colds about, though, which we are hoping to avoid.

had flu jab then booster one week later. Sore arm for a couple of days but nothing else. The reassurance I feel greatly outweighs the minor ache. Also feel better in protecting my severely immunocompromised wife!

I had my covid booster on Friday and thankfully Iv been absolutely fine. I have heard that a lot of folk who have been poorly had flu and covid jab together.!!!

I don’t know if there’s any truth in it but I’m having my flu jab in 2 weeks just in case.!!

I had my Covid and Flu jabs on Thursday. My right arm (flu) was a little sore for a day but my left arm(covid) felt like it had been hit with a hammer for a couple of days.

I have an achy hip and that was a little worse overnight, but settled down again on Friday. I'm trying to work out if I have a touch of sciatica or possible arthritis in the hip.

I've had no symptoms from AF so far and feel like my normal self today.

Everyone views this differently and it should be so! I don't understand why people feel a need to fight over this. I've had the 'vid twice. The first was ugh! horrible but I survived without side effects. The second time was more like mild upper respiratory flu. One thing I will say though is that people who smoke or have only recently ceased doing so, should take this seriously. Covid is in the respiratory family of viruses. COPD patients or those with other respiratory conditions or who smoke are very much in danger of stronger problems with it. Me? I'm the person they hire to test out the CPR dummies to see if they explode when blown into great lungs thank the Lord!

I had a flu shot the first week in October when I was being discharged from the hospital and the nurse offered it, and I gladly accepted it.

Had covid booster about a week later. I've had no problems with either vaccinations.

We have both just had our Autumn booster and no problems at all - but then I never had any problems with the previous 4 but my wife had Astra Zeneca as her first and she was fatigued for 24 hours but otherwise no problems with the other 4 she has had. being asthmatic she has been having the flu jab for decades and never had a problem with them. I have been having the flu jab for over 10 years and never had a problem.
