Hi All, can i just ask is this the best Magnesium for ectopics? i been taking Magnesium Glycinate for around 9 months but was told they not much good for ectopics
magnesium taurate/ectopics: Hi All, can... - Atrial Fibrillati...
magnesium taurate/ectopics
I take Magnesium Chelate but apparently the one to take is Magnesium Taurate. Chelate is working fine for me right now. I think the glycinate is one of the better ones. I guess it depends on what works fir you. If it’s working then stock with it.
Hi Pad, I am currently taking Igennus Triple Complex so you get a bit of each magnesium because I don’t know if one is any better than the other having tried Taurate & Glycinate. Not tried Citrate by itself.
I cannot swallow big capsules so have to dissolve the content in water as Sanjay Gupta advises.
Taurate doesn’t taste too bad, Glycinate tastes disgusting but the triple complex isn’t too bad.
Have you had your 7 day monitor
Hi. I take magnesium tau rate. As recommended by the lovely Dr Sanjay Gupta - I am convinced it helps with ectopics.
May i asked what brand?
I buy from BioCare online - reasonable price and they are reliable and prompt service. I have had no problems with them
- I take 2 capsules per day.
They’ve reduced a lot I only take a half daily dose. My Taurate is Biocare
I went crazy looking then taking magnesium taurate! After a month of taking them I started getting bad etopics. In the end I stopped taking them and etopics gone
I’ve been on magnesium taurate now for 6 mths since listening to Sanjay Gupta and it has changed my life
Hi there
I also take magnesium taurate, can I ask what dose you take per day.
Thanks
Can I ask which brand?
I buy online from I herb -
Cardiovascular Research is the brand dr Gupta recommended they have it in capsules (125mg)
Another brand I get is KAL tablets 400mg each
I have purchased both
Hi...how long did it take for you to feel better?
I’ve stop taking magnesium now as they made little to no difference for my ectopics
In this stressful world everyone virtually everyone is magnesium deficient I would resume taking your magnesium taurate because it’s good for you in many ways and not just the heart.PS you can get a normal blood test for magnesium and still be magnesium deficient. Because it’s not about the amount of magnesium the registers in the blood it’s the amount of magnesium inside yourself and that is a different test. You can get that test from a holistic MD functional medicine practitioner. Good luck
Yeah good question interested in hearing about people’s dosage. I’m currently taking cardiovascular research mag taurate 125mg between 4-6 per day....It only suggests 2 but thought I may as well increase as no bowel incidents with this kind of mag
Has it worked?
Yes I would say so, I also use he magnesium spray twice daily, a little mag calm . Also supplement Co Enzyme Q10 200mg, vitamin D and a Deva multivitamin, this seem to work for me.
And do you suffer with AF and ectopics?
Ectopics but this I’m sure is triggered from anxiety...and only really get them or what I think is them from 1pm onwards...but probably 10-20.....
I take 400 mg Magnesium Citrate daily I'm sure it helps, my Afib has subsided considerably over the last year since I've been taking it.......fingers crossed !!.
I now take Magnesium Glycinate, the Citrate didnt work for me. I was taking Taurate but suddenly the price went up to double the price to something like 28 euros from 14 euros so that is why I take the MG. However I now see that the Taurate is back down to 14 euros, so if it stays at the price I will order those instead. The Glycinate does not stop them altogether but they are a lot better then they were and I can live with them. Wish I knew what causes them though as I get them at all different times of the day and night
Looks like taurate is the most popular one on here for ectopics do you take any co enzymes also?
No I don't. I am not sure what they are. Are they beneficial for ectopics then!
I take a 500mg pill with L-threonine, glycinate, and taurate by Bodygenix (EBay) last thing at night with some Vit C and it seems to work for me. I sleep well and no longer have ectopics although my heart is not regular at all. It seems to work for me although how do I know how I would be if I did not take it? Have been taking mag for years now recommended over 30 years ago by someone at the John Radcliffe in Oxford. I find some mag gives me loose stool. This one is OK.
I take the glycinate and have had a definite improvement in 2 months, just 100mg a day, they suggest 200mg so im on a low dose and am going to up it to see if they go altogether. Take care with q10 co enzyme, if you are taking other heart medication it can inhibit it...look up drug interactions.
Yeah I think
I need to do a bit more research on the co enzyme I did exactly the same as you I uop my dose to 200 mg per day than 6 weeks later got these ectopics constant so I reduced it back to one tablet made no difference to the ectopics
They are a nuisance to say the least!! I'm waiting for an appointment for a Holter so will wait until after that Good luck.
I have somehow italicised my text???? Anyway, I take Taurate but find the size of the pills quite difficult to swallow , often wondered how well absorbed they would be if I used an alternative orifice....not really being serious, but these pills are huge!
I’ve just started taking glycinerate but have ordered Biocare Taurate to try. Can anyone give an idea on how quickly they might start working please?
I have been 6 weeks now with non stop ectopics with runs of 3,4 and 5’s one after another which are wearing me out and desperate for some relief!! X
For paroxysmal Afib.
I was taking magnesium bisglycinate, with maybe a bit of benefit. Switched to magnesium with taurine (450 mg of taurine), (CanPrev brand) taking 1 capsule per day, and my afib has improved tremendously. Went down from having an afib episode every week, to none in 3 months now. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I have tried Co Q-10 in the past, with no benefit.
Is this the one you take?
Hi Padayn01,
I hope all is going OK for you. You might want to read my story as it majors on Magnesium and CoQ10:

I did start my journey with Magnesium Taurate, but Glycinate seems to do the same job, is less expensive and did not cause any stool issues.
Best regards,

Hi,
Exercise was and still is a trigger, albeit much less now. The trigger point would be any exercise where my heartrate was above 115 - 125 for more than 10 - 15 mins. It did not always trigger, but often some 30mins to 3 hrs after the exercise would see onset of serious AF or AT. Sometimes preceeded by Ectopics or erratic single beats. Some 2 weeks ago, I did a serious Mountain walk/hike in Skye which was labelled as moderate but was actually very hard but to rain sweeping in out of nowhere. My heartrate was well above 125bpm for more an hour, maybe more. I expected the worst! I was very pleased that my only post-walk heart issues were some low level AF just above my resting heart rate for a couple of hours, with no associated discomfort. I do believe that this "success" is very much down to the Magnesium/Ubiquinol regime....
Cheers
Even though exercise is a possible trigger, I continued to exercise with due caution throughout. I joined a Cardiac Exercise club (affiliated to NHF) in my local area and once a week had a hour long circuit training with others having heart conditions supervised by a heart-trained fitness coach. Otherwise I stick to exercises where I can control my heartrate, i.e. swimming and walking and not high intensity gym activity.
A few years back, I did get afraid of exercising because of the possible consequences (12 to 24 hours of AF and AT), but I did get past this by doing enjoyable exercising - a long walk in the countryside followed by a pint in a pub!
Cheers
The NHF website lists about 10 clubs across England. These are run as charities and have low fees. They generally require a letter from your Doctor to get membership.
Apologies, it is the British Heart Foundation website not 'NHF' !
Magnesium Taurate is the best one for AFIB.
