Hi all, apologies in advance for asking a question that has probably been asked many times but can I enquire what dose people are taking of magnesium taurate, I am currently taking 250 mg morning and 250mg evening, it is great at reducing ectopics but wondered if it is safe to take more on occasions when they are particularly bad - thanks

IMO 800 mg per day would be an ideal dose. I would suggest taking as much as your body can take. You`ll soon need to visit the loo if you take to much - the body gets gets rid of any excess.

Best,

Paul

in the words of Guy Martin, when you take too much it's time to weaken the mixture

To much mag and that might apply too !

On a serious note - my suggestion is start off on smaller doses and build up. Certainly split the dose ie half in the morning and half at night.

Best,

Paul

I’ve just looked on my tub of magnesium taurate and it says 1830mg in the 2 tablets that I’m taking daily. Wow is this too much I wonder

I would be suspicious of that quoted amount as Mag. Taurate is 8.8%

The largest "000" capsule holds 1000mg = 88mg of bio available mag. taurate , there is some lee way to approx. 125mg per capsule / tablet .

But your quoted amount is 91.5% of available magnesium per tablet .

It can have 91.5% magnesium but not bio available.

It says on the tub of magnesium 146.4 mg provided by 1830 mg magnesium taurate. It’s so confusing

That sounds spot on but obviously purposely misleading or confusing ....

each tablet holds 915mg of which the available magnesium taurate is 73.2mg which equals 8% of bio available magnesium.

Your 2 tablets are equal to a bit over 1 Cardiovascular Research magnesium taurate

When supplementing, be aware of creative marketing: always look for the most absorbable and 100% pure forms.

Try dissolving magnesium citrate powder in warm water to drink if you’re experiencing a bout of ectopics. It’s more easily taken up if it’s dissolved in water.
