PVC's and PAC's Drastically Reduced/Stopped after years of terror and diminished life quality....? I'm not sure, but this is what I did..

Well, over the past couple of weeks my life has turned around for the positive and I cannot believe it!!!! I am so happy, but don't want to get too excited until more time has passed. After literally starting to plan my demise (that's right...having up to 13,000 + PVC's and hundreds of PAC's and not being able to take Beta Blockers...being given Calcium Channel Blockers and Digoxin which I was TERRIFIED to take because the Beta Blockers made me want to off myself even sooner...I did LOTS of research on natural remedies for these ghastly things that had me crying most of the day, depressed, not wanting to leave the house, unable to work....HORRIBLE!!! At first I tried a few things...kept getting the palps...then I tried a few more things...palps started going down...then I removed a few things (things meaning supplements, by the way...) then I change the dosages...all based upon what the research I read and the way I felt. READ THIS: I DID NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THIS WAS GOING TO HELP ME OUT BUT I FELT I HAD NO CHOICE OTHER THAN TO TRY! Okay, so I went from 13,000 PVC's and hundreds of PAC's to ZERO yesterday and today!! WTF??? I am still skeptical. This is what I am taking. Now keep in mind, none of the below independently or in any other combination got me down to ZERO. So, I am now paranoid about sticking to this regimen at the exact times of the day/night. I will still see my doc's and cardiologist and get the tests done and still move towards ablation as was suggested that I have done, but that won't be for a year or so until I see that specialist. So in the meantime, I will continue with this supplementation schedule and see what happens over time. I will also give all the supplements a rest of a couple of days every 5 months, as was suggested as well in case what I'm doing doesn't keep helping - but I am panicking thinking about stopping even for a day!! LOL! Oh, by the way, I started getting heart issues in my mid 20's and I am 61. Over the past couple of years, I have been in Emergency a number of times and lived my life for the past couple of years with my fingers on my pulse, thinking I was going to die virtually every minute of the day. That's why I didn't want to live any longer. Okay, here is what I do daily:

1) I journal every thing I eat, drink and take and the times of the day, for reference. I drink lots of water all day long. I also juice vegetables (all organic) every day or 2nd day including: Kale, spinach, turmeric, ginger, apples, carrots, celery, red cabbage.

2) (around 10:30 or 11:00 by the time I get to this) Big glass of water upon rising. 1/2 banana (or breakfast) with 1,000 mg Taurine; 500 mg L-Arginine; 100 mg CoQ-10; 100 mg PROMg12; 1/4 Tsp. D-Ribose; V8 low sodium (small can).

3) Lunch. 500 mg Vit C; 100 mcg Selenium; 1,000 mg Omega EFA (180 AEP/120 ADH; 100 mg B6; 2,500 mcg B12 Sublingual.

4) Around 3:00 pm (supplements spread out about 4-5 hours between doses). Same doses as above. 1/2 banana (or small bite of food), V8, L-Arginine, Taurine.

5) Dinner. Omega EFA, 500 mg Evening Primrose Oil.

6) Around 7 pm. Small bite of food. V8, L-Arginine, CoQ10, Taurine, PROMg12.

7) Before bed (around 11 pm or midnight). Small bite of food. V8, L-Arginine, Taurine.

Now, I still expect to get some of the heart palps, but I was told even with meds, I would still get them. However, even having ONE DAY without them was a miracle after years of having them ALL DAY/NIGHT LONG!!! I am going to get L-Carnitine too (a newer form of Propionyl-L-Carnitine (PLC) targets heart tissue specifically so I will only use this formula) and add this in too.

Okay, that's it. Either I take Rx the rest of my life or supplements and I prefer all the above UNLESS this somehow fails to work then I will revisit pharma.

Best,

Cathrine

Not only me...thousands and thousands of people....Just read Dr. Rath's study and it was INCREDIBLE!! Unless the heart has the bio nutrients to work properly, it can't....it's all about nutrition. Meds just mask the symptoms. I'm a believer...yes, it is working for me and I hope that I can help someone else too. X0

Makes sense - I have done similar and just had a nutrionist GI report to fine tune supplement regime. I think everyone needs an individual regime - hence food diary/elimination - and and you need to work with your doctor for bloods etc - I have blood draws every 4 weeks the list of tests keeps growing - I take COQ10 or Ubiquinol, B Complex, Vit D (as I have autoimmune diseases on top), 3 specific supplements from results of my GI test, Vit C, Fish Oils & Kefir - water.

I was also advised to eat more resistant starches - cold rice or pasta, cashew nuts, Brazil nuts, avocados, lentils and eggs. I need to increase my protein and fat content.

Because I started having episodes of tachycardia recently I have also cut out the coffee again, sadly, as I was really enjoying the occasional cup but it immediately triggers my tachycardia which then flips into AF so that has gone.

Whatever works for you!

Okay, good to know it's just not me that is getting relief! ;-) Sounds like you have great help and I will be looking for someone to help me with nutrition too in Vancouver, BC. Today I had a couple of SMALL missed beats, but it's almost 6 pm so I'm doing another happy dance...LOL!! I just got B2 and Vit A to start tonight too. Keep in touch! >CAT< X0

Wow 🌺 Well done

This is what medicine is about

Hippocrates said " let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food "

This was where the doctors got the Hippocratic oath from

Sadly today its no longer used instead chemicals drugs that sometimes cause more harm than good

Well done to you for thinking outside the box and using your own intellect

I have done exactly the same thing

" you are what you eat"

I am so strict with food i cant tell you

all the vitamins above i take for a year now As well

I add to it fresh ginger root and the most powerful antioxidant curcuma juice with apples beetroot everyday i take water and herbal teas stopped all the bad stuff over a yesr ago I am not on warfarin so it's okay

I also concentrated on my gut because alot of research seems to point to gut vagus nerve for palps and PAF

So i take various vitamins to reduce inflammation in gut which intend to have ....bloating rumbles heart burn all that stuff

I do believe that inflammation is what starts Afib thats why when people i suspect have ablations done get major palps until it settlesdown ,,

So body must need antioxidants to heal from foods thats how i think

I do believe that food cures many of our problems but society seems to have been brain washed into forgetting about what we eat and just take drugs to get rid of the symptoms instead of looking to whats causing the problem

Why on earth do u still need an ablation if you are improving look at the side effects which could be damaging

I can understand people going down that route if everything else has been tried but to no avail 😳

But u only have PVC PAV is it really worth the gamble if you are on the mend

I dont think you will get too much of a positive resonse on this site cause most are stuck in the very orthodox view of chemicals drugs even though the side effect are worse than the disease itself but thats there choice i suppose

I am impressed with you and its refreshing to hear poeple thinking for themselves

Remember doctors in england have 0 knowlege of nutrition so they will never discuss or understand nutrition they will always look at masking the sypmtons and not finding out what the hell is going on with the body when it has a problem

🌺🌺🌺🌺 keep going strong 💪🏻

Hi and thank you for the reply! The ablation takes a couple of years and since I wasn't sure if my new plan would work, I didn't want to cancel traditional medicine/procedures in case all my supplements didn't work...so I would still have a back up plan. I went to sleep early last night and so I missed my last supplement and am I sorry that happened!!! I woke up at 5 am with all of the palpitations back again!!! I learned that it will take a year or longer to top all my deficient minerals/vitamins and until then, I need to take everything on schedule without any misses!! I took the supplements at 6:00 am and an hour later, I am fine....all palps stopped!! WTF?? no one can tell me that what I'm taking isn't helping and remarkable!! I posted some of the studies I read over the past few weeks to help make my healing plan (Below). All the information is on the internet, you just have to know how to find it! Since I no longer believe I am dying every minute of the day, I started walking my dogs for 1/2 an hour a day; biking an hour a day and am getting reading for hip replacement surgery so now I can focus on strength and getting in better shape for that. I already had one knee replaced....getting old is tough sometimes and the LAST think I need is heart issues! I've learned a lot about adrenals and stress and how your heart/health pays the price....anyway, I'm rambling...good to meet you....oh, and you are so right about the gut!! I have issues with my stomach and that is the next thing I will tackle NATURALLY, once I get my heart issues totally sorted out. >CAT< X0

Well done for being brave and going your own way with all the supplements, diet and natural support for your body. I really hope it works for you.

I take herbs now(not Chinese) to help keep ❤️, thyroid and blood pressure stable, (and anxiety caused by years of PAF .) Have had a , so far, successful cryoablation 14months ago and off all meds and want it to stay that way too so here's hoping nutrition and natural remedies and supplement support can help everything maintain its balance. I have to say however, that I could not have done this without the fantastic skill and knowledge of my EP and team who gave me an amazing start to my AF free life! Stay open minded and remember conventional, and natural medicine can, and I believe should, work together.

Stay well

With good wishes

As I have written elsewhere on this site - I had ectopics coming out of my ears for years! 20,000+ a day, every day. Life was miserable. I was scheduled for an ablation but didn't have it done.

I saw my EP last month and he has written to my GP (I have a copy of his letter) to say that he has now discharged me.

My ectopics (24hr monitor) were now down to 400 a day!

Back story here:- I took Tramadol for two years because of arthritic and sciatic pain. This caused ectopics. High level of ectopics caused grade four heart failure. (There is no grade 5!)

I was expecting to fall off my perch at any time and so I "put my affairs in order".

I took nebivolol, ramipril, and a diuretic and this got things a bit more settled but the constant ectopics make life a bit of a misery - especially the "big bumps" that wake you up a few time a night.

I heard about nascent iodine here on this site (Heartfelt Thanks to whoever it was that posted that link.) I researched it and then started taking it daily. Once I'd been doing this for a week and got the dose up to two drops twice a day my ectopics stopped! (Alivecor device used every night to check.)

After two months the ectopics were still not showing on my Alivecor so I began to wonder if the heart failure would be reversed if the ectopics that caused it had stopped. I'm indebted to the poster who put a link on here to a video done by Dr Gupta at York that said quite clearly that the heart would heal itself if the ectopics were stopped - which is why an ablation was considered to be of use.

I went for my yearly check-up with my EP last month and had a 24 monitor and an echo just before seeing him.

My ectopics are now just about normal and my HF has been assessed as grade 2.

His letter to my GP says that he will only need to see me again if anything happens to warrant it.

When I saw my EP and told him about the iodine he just smiled - but he did add that whatever I was doing - if it worked for me then keep doing it.

I'm currently taking 3 drops twice a day. A 600 drop bottle cost about £30. Best bargain I've ever had - I've got my life back and can do things now that I wouldn't have been able to do six months ago. Not only that - and this is just as relevant as the reduction in ectopics- I now WANT to do things whereas before I would not have the get up and go to even consider it and would avoid making any firm plans.

I told the EP that I appreciated what he and his team had done for me to put me in the position where I could consider other options, and I said that I acknowledged that my sudden and dramatic improvement could simply be the result of all the things that he and his team had put in place for me coming together at that time.

I wonder... if I stop taking the iodine will I get the ectopics back? I'm not going to chance it!

If you decide that iodine might help you then PLEASE make sure that you do as much research as you can as, from what I've read, there are some medicines that it would effect so it would be contra-indicated.

Regards, Thanks and best wishes,

George

Hi George: YES, I TAKE THAT TOO!!! LOL! 3 drops a day and I give it a break every couple of weeks for a few days off...as I heard we should be doing with all supplements so that they continue to work better and continuously. I will do a 6 month break off all supplements for a week too. Is your Iodine called 'Survival Shield?' That's the brand of Iodine I started taking. >CAT< X0

I just read that you took Tramadol and I took it too for 2 days but my palpitations were off the chart so I stopped taking it! WOW...interesting this both happened to us. And, I cut back on the iodine to one dose every week and I am doing great because of the other supplements I take, so not sure the iodine was key for me, but I will still take it occasionally.

Here are a couple of the MANY, MANY, research studies I found over the past few weeks that helped me to design my own supplement plan that eliminated/drastically reduced my daily PVC's/PAV's (I was having 13,000 PVC's/hundreds of PAC's daily for years!!):

Interesting how the article recommends using ionized salt (for iodine) but here in Canada, the salt contains: salt and sugar..YUP!! SUGAR!! WTF??? Check what the salt box says. Now I only use Himalayan Pink Salt.

Reply

Obviously it's great not to have PVCs, but I suspect you can reduce the supplements considerably and still have the same effect so trying cutting them out one by one. My guess is it's the water and tumeric having the most effect ... but everybody is different.

Which ones do you think I can take less of? I juice a piece of tumeric that's how I take that one. But I always drank a lot of water. I missed the supplements before bed at at 5 am this morning WHAM! all right back again. Took the supplements at 6:30 and won't miss a dose again ever.

The iodine I take is from Harmonic Innerprizes and is a nascent iodine in a vegetable glycerin.

HI Cathrine you are about the only person I have heard with the same problems as myself I have had 2 ablations this year for ectopics have literally thousands every day! ablation is in its early days but still having ectopics my EP has now informed me he did some damage to right side of heart so had to stop the procedure he said I could go for a 3rd ablation but risk more damage, I am very interested in your regime what about your diet im trying to follow the Fodmap diet but extremely difficult do u follow any kind of diet? Nothing seems to help my eptopics it is relentless like you 24/7. My lifestyle is severely limited with this condition. Glad someone has found an alternative to prescribed medicine that works for them.

Reply

Goodness...I just typed about half an hour reply and somehow deleted it!! Geesh...here I go typing all over again...LOL!!!...

I cannot believe your doctor did damage during your ablations...is that typical?? Did he have specialized training and if so, what type? I am pretty shocked to hear this....

I try to eat very low carbs and high protein. I am about 20 lbs overweight and so I have to start being more diligent about cutting carbs (less than 100grams a day) again. I like being in ketosis as the weight flies off, but with this heart issue I have been busy trying to stay alive, not worry about the extra pounds. Now I can exercise though and focus on losing weight, since the heart issue is finally under control and hopefully will get better or stay the way it is!!

After weeks of trial and error with supplements, I found the BEST/MOST HELPFUL ONES TO USE ARE: L-Arginine, Propionyl L-Carnitine (this one specifically targets the heart!) and Taurine. TO THOSE OF YOU WHO SAY YOU ARE ON A LIMITED BUDGET TRY THESE COUPLE OF AMINO ACIDS, IF YOU CAN!! OR JUST THE L-ARGININE AND TAURINE AND THESE TWO SHOULD HELP WITH PVC'S AND PAC'S!!

This is what I take daily in addition to V9 low sodium (for potassium) and juicing as per my post earlier...every other day.

RIGHT AFTER WAKING UP

Survival Shield Iodine 3 drops; Boron (for my arthritis); L-Arginine 500 mg; Taurine 1,000 mg; Magnesium Oronate 100 mg; Propionyl L-Carnitine (this Carnitine targets the heart!); CoQ 100 mg.

WITH FOOD/PROTEIN SHAKE

B12 2,500 mcg sublingual; B6; B2; Vit C 500 mg; Selenium 100 mcg; Omega Fatty Acids 1,000 mg (180 EPA/120 DHA).

BEFORE DINNER

L-Arginine; Taurine 500 mg (only am dose is 1,000 mg); Mg; L-Carnitine; CoQ.

WITH DINNER

Omega; ; Vit A 10,000 IU; Vit E 400 IU; Evening Primrose (for female hormone help)...

BEDTIME

L-Arginine; Taurine 500 mg; Mg; L-Carnitine; CoQ.

In my juicing I add tumeric and ginger as well, just to note.

I really, really hope this helps even one other person and I know how HORRIBLE AND DEBILITATING Palpitations and skipped beats can be. WEEKS AGO, I DIDN'T WANT TO LIVE ANY MORE!! OH, MY GOD I WOULD HAVE MADE A BIG MISTAKE!!!

And again...I am having a stress test done in 2 weeks, have a cardiologist (but I didn't take the beta blocker or digoxin he prescribed and no longer need to anyway!!....) and have a GP and I am taking what they say into account as well.

However, I believe nutrition and vitamin supplements saved my life.

Thank you!

Thankyou so much Cat for getting back im still housebound 7 weeks post ablation but will now go and try to source these supplements as I live in Ireland I may have to try the internet so glad I read your article I really had almost given up hope of any kind of a life just now! The supplements dont have any side effects as I am terrified of making these blasted ectopics worse? My EP said the dont work but I will try anything, best wishes from Ireland Ingrid

IRELAND!! Wow!! I have always wanted to visit Ireland!! I have been to London, but never made my way there. I had to order a few things from the United States because Canada didn't have all that I needed. DON'T GIVE UP!!! I would really like to know how the ablation works for you too, so please keep me posted, okay!! cathrine@cathrineann.com

Just to note, I am TERRIFIED to take any supplement or pill!! Just my nature. So I had a hard time finally taking them all too. I returned the Hawthorn Berry that I bought because I figured I was taking more than enough.....but now after what I read about it, I will probably go and buy it again. I think the juicing is REALLY important too. I also started taking 2 scoops of Tangy Tangerine and 1 capful of Minerals (liquid) by Youngevity mixed in a big bottle of water over the whole day/night (every 2nd day) too...I'm just trying to give my heart and body EVERYTHING it could possibly need to fix itself. I ate a BIG bowl of salty popcorn late last night (with salty butter on top!) and what a stupid thing that was!! I had palpitations all morning because I read that salt will always compete with potassium and some other things and affect palpitations...so, now I will watch my salt intake (which is high I think since I LOVE salt) but not more than I want to get better so bye bye excessive salt! Once I juiced and took the tangy/minerals and my supplements, 1/2 hour later, NO palpitations!! I'm still learning. Start slowly with what you take (I am happy to communicate with you to keep in touch!! ;-) ) and let me know how you make out, okay? If one other person gets some help, that will be good enough for me. I know we all have deficiencies in nutrition and biologically (especially when a person is over 40 or 50 things decline) and it's just a matter of finding out WHAT those are. I read that 80% of us are deficient in some nutrients and that's why these palpitations happen...and there 20% are truly genetic BUT can still be helped with proper/better nutrition. I am growing tomatoes and Kale and have really changed my lifestyle too and will continue to do so. If I have to try the calcium channel blocker at some point because what I'm doing isn't working, I will. If I have to have an ablation because what I'm doing isn't working, I will. I will take advantage of every possible thing I can to feel better. All I know is I feel 80% better with supplements and juicing...so what changed? Why reduce the palpitations so drastically after YEARS of having them? Only thing that changed is what I ingest and what I don't. Oh, I also have stomach issues and I'm off to buy some Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar because I read that 1 Tablespoon mixed in a big glass of water and then drinking, gets rid of GERD and acid reflux...we shall see...hey, I might just turn out to be a naturopathic after all this crap gets sorted out, eh? LOL!!!! Okay, you take care and keep in touch!!!! >CAT< X0

Has anyone researched or come up with inflammation and SVT/AF with IBS thanks

Reply

I have IBS and stomach issues and I do think that my palpitations are aggravated by my stomach. That is why I am going to try to tackle the stomach issues now that I have the heart calmed down a good deal. I try to make sure my blood sugar never drops and will eat a 1/2 a banana or a bit of protein to make sure that doesn't happen. But I believe there is a definite correlation with the gut and EVERYTHING else in our body including the heart! >CAT< X0

Reply

Thanks for your reply CatAnn I always believed that my gut had some relationship to my heart and have concentrated on my stomach for around 3half years now, most of those on this forum know that I have always treated my stomach first whenever I had an episode, for me this means a modified Fodmap diet, which has been a bonus. Throughout these experiments though, I have always arrived at the conclusion that Inflammation was a big problem too, and my Doctors and specialists know that I try to find out more. I have since had a cryoablation and am nearly off all my medications. My stomach has calmed down somewhat, but is still not 100% It seems strange that these two conditions came to the fore at almost the same time, I have come a long way with my food and exercise regime, and my focus will now be more on causes that effect the gut.

Reply

I've think I've heard it said that the gut is the real heart of our body...and if no one said it, then I'm saying it now... LOL! I absolutely believe that. Especially when the Vagus nerve can def cause palpitations by being too full or by eating the wrong foods (that don't agree with us individually).

Reply

Well done for finding something that helps you. As you know we are all individuals and our biochemical mechanisms are different due to what we consume and our environment. This means it may work for you but for someone else it may not.

This new regime has slowed down your racing heart which is amazing but I hope as time goes on it does not slow it too much. I'd be interested to hear your progress in a couple of months.

Good luck.

Reply

Hello. My heart rate did not slow down. It is the same. Yes, I went to med school and I am aware of our different biochemistries. However, the research conducted resulting in my drastic improvement, is based upon thousands of other people's success, which is why I decided to try supplementation. I was told by my docs that my condition would never completely get better. I am sure I have already achieved greater success over the past 5 weeks, than with the meds they gave me - and from the medication prognosis from my docs, long term. I first tried beta blockers and hated the way they made me feel and THAT drug slowed down my heart rate to 40 BPM! Horrible med for me! It's actually not a shocking concept to believe that our bodies can usually made what it needs, if we give it the right tools. I still do get the palpitations, but they are bearable, unlike the past few years. Thank you.

Reply

At worst, I have had a couple of missed beats a day but mostly, NONE at all!! I guess what I'm doing is working and I no longer question the supplements being the reason why I am now PVC/PVA free!! I stopped the supplements just to test if the palps would come back and they did! I will keep with the supplements 4 X a day and hope this brilliant yet simple solution continues. Just keeping you updated. Thank you!

Reply

Hi CatAnn, and all,

I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one feeling scared to death and overwhelmed, crying, etc. over these PVCs. I have no insurance right now but went to the walk-in clinic last week as these things have been going on for 2 weeks, affecting me at work. I wore a Holter monitor about 10 years ago and they were supposedly found to be "benign," same thing they told me this time, but now they go up to 20,000 for hours at a time. This is the worst series ever in my life. I have a stressful job so I thought maybe that was causing it. I quit everything - all alcohol, sugar, caffeine (coffee triggers them instantly), and started on a mineral supplement (drops in water) because I have been low in potassium in the past. It helped for periods of time, but then they come right back, especially when I'm sitting down working.

I just went to the Vitamin Cottage here and spoke with the guru there, and came home with the supplements you talked about - L-Carnitine, L-Arginine, a potassium/magnesium/Taurine ( I think) supplement, Vitamin D, etc. They havent' started since I've returned home, but I'm waiting to see what happens so I can try one thing at a time just to see what works. Oh, CoQ10 too.

The magnesium is helping me sleep and keeping them from coming at night. So my question is, are you taking Magnesium?? He said that is the number one thing that is needed for healthy muscle contraction, apparently, plus it has the benefit of keeping our bowels moving so that inflammation in the gut maybe doesn't happen.

I'm so glad I saw this site and thread, and spent $75 on supplements to try rather than who knows how much at the ER! I know that road is a dead end mostly, unless you want med side effects or an ablation at some point, which scares the crap out of me, I'll admit, almost more than the PVCs.

So what about Magnesium? 😳
