On the magnesium/potassium question and correct balance. I take Holland & Barrett's 'Super Multi-Mineral' - they contain both + other valuable minerals. 3 a day provide the recommended dose.

They certainly keep my fluttery heart under control (I think) !

Best wishes all

I know what you mean Bob - even if they are a placebo effect - it's worth the money lol!

I don't say what I take for obvious reasons but it is a bit like going to A and E for many people. As soon as you get there you go back into NSR in the car park. Lol My problem as a volunteer is that many chemicals or minerals can be dangerous for some people so recommending them is not something I do. I have been taking Q10 since well before I got AF and forgotten why to be honest but too scared to stop. Our minds are far more powerful that we think and to be honest controlling them is probably far more effective that any chemicals. "Glasshopper learn well." Showing my age there. lol

The body makes sure that magnesium levels in the blood are always OK. If they weren't we would be in trouble! But the magnesium is stored in bone etc, so a blood test shows nothing about the total magnesium in the body. There is another test which can be done privately, which gives a better indication. Alternatively if one is very low and uses a magnesium spray, people say that it stings on the skin - so that might be a way of finding out if it is very low. Providing your doctor agrees to your trying it, I suggest a low dose could be worth trying. It may decrease the severity of symptoms . . .
