Another on Magnesium
Well, that certainly clarifies things! A good article. I have been spraying the oil on for about 2 weeks. I am spraying it on the site of a chronic neck and shoulder, injury induced pain, for which I have been having physiotherapy for ages. Guess what? I have noticed a huge improvement. I suppose the physiotherapy may have just started to work but it's a bit of a co incidence.
However this morning I forgot to wash my hands before testing my I.N.R. and I had just been rubbing in the magnesium. My reading was>8!! I washed my hands and tried again and this time it was 3. Another co incidence? That will remind me to was my hands. X
Very good article. At the moment I rely on magnesium rich food as. I stick to supplements I was taking before starting warfarin.
Fortunately ( though not for my weight) I love nuts and bananas. !!!

That's a good, clear article CD. I feel better after going tee-total, but it took a long time, maybe that's why?

thanks for the website re magnesium I will try to find out more next meet when I have an appointment the Heart Doctor..
I've been taking Magnesium for a few months now. I'm not sure if I feel any better, but I certainly don't feel any worse. Since starting back on the magnesium after my ablation one thing I have noticed and this could be coincidence, is my INR levels have come down. I was at 2.5 post ablation and I'm now 2.1. My warfarin has been upped from 7.0 to 7.5 and I'm now on 8.0MG, as twice I have dropped under 2.0MG. The article states dark greens such as spinach and Kale are high in magnesium, but as we know they also interact with warfarin due to the high vitamin K they contain. Just a thought.
I find magnesium a godsend, I have been so much better both pre and post ablation, I would defo recommend anyone giving it go who has not tried, agreed as everything with AF symptoms/treatments can differ greatly for each individual.
Even when taken a extra dose if eptopics about if helps settles things down.
Jason
Surprised you are on such a high does of Warfarin post ablation, we were done around the same time, as soon as my ablation was done I was off warfarin and onto Rivaroxaban, which in turn I was told by my EP I could stop after 8 weeks, which I did, as no real sign of AF.
I didn't get much in the way of advice after my ablation Mick, it was more or less stick with the meds and I'll see you in 3 months. That 3 months has changed to 4, but it doesn't bother me too much sticking with it. I've had no side effects, so I'm happy to go with it. I'm on a high does to keep me between the magical 2 - 3 INR level. The nurse reckons it's because I'm very active and this isn't uncommon. I don't understand why my levels fluctuate like they do though, as I don't really lead that much of a varied life.
I hope your AF has been behaving mate.
Jason
Without tempting fate, AF has been at bay and still not sure if episodes I have had were just ectopics.
Back playing golf regularly since my hols, only thing I am yet to do is any weights or heavy cardio work, think I will leave alone until the six months, happy with how things are for now.
Went out the weekend and drank more in one evening than since last October even had a curry, well can't remember last time I did that.
From my hols also been eating quite a bit of ice cream, someone mentioned shoud help me put on some weight, not worked but love trying, never been into ice cream, weird.
How's things with you mate
Good to hear things are going well for you Mick. I like the sound of the ice cream diet pal, I bet there are no end of people envying you there. That was the only plus point about my thyroid problem I had, trying to put the weight back on. Things are good my side, still taking things relatively steady, but I'll see what the EP or whoever I see next month says. Got a stag do up your neck of the woods next month, so that might be a tester, but I think I'll be reasonably well behaved. Take it easy mate.
So did you manage to put weight back on then and if so how
I did Mick. I was prescribed some medication to sort out my thyroid issue and after about 3 months the weight started to come back.
oh right so more of a medical thing then.
at a loss me to see how I can gain a few more pounds, suppose I will just live with it now, its really the muscle loss that is the main issue, but I dont want to start weights pull ups press ups etc as I am sure that may well trigger the AF.
Jason I am 10 mg a day and wouldn't be very stable if I didn't self test once a week. I was told that your body's ability to metabolize warfarin was partly hereditary and that exercise often played a part in speeding up that rate. It doesn't matter what dose you take as long as your I.N.R. is in range.x
