And yet it doesn’t warn about the contra indications for taking Oral Magnesium supplements.

ancient-minerals.com/magnes...

I cannot take any oral Magnesium as it makes me very weak but I can and occasionally do use a Magnesium Oil. I know when my Magnesium levels are low because my muscles tend to start to go very stiff and start to spasm and a few squirts of the oil helps relax the muscles. I know some people use it after showering on a more regular basis. Bathing in sea salts or Epsom salts once a week is I find also a good alternative.

I wonder how many people take medications for high BP plus Magnesium supplement and find their BP dips too low?

I've noticed the same reaction to oral magnesium: feeling weak, depleted. At least I believe oral magnesium is the cause. Very disappointing as I believe I'm magnesium depleted and was looking forward to correcting; and then I find I can't tolerate the cure. Can you talk more about your experience with the magnesium oil? No weakness with that? You mentioned you only take it now and again but I believe I have a depletion and would like to see it corrected. Any insights you can provide, as someone who had a poor reaction to the oral magnesium form, would be appreciated. Thanks.

What makes you think you are Mg depleted? The only way to know if or how much you have Mg depletion is to take a red cell blood test. These aren’t usually available on the NHS.

I have no response to Mg oil or Sea Salts & believe it is is enough for me.

I believe I may have it because of long time high blood pressure and heart palpitations, and recent drop in potassium levels. I'm guessing the NHS is UK health system. I'm not in the UK. But if they don't provide testing then you must have intuited low magnesium as I am. How frequently do you use topical magnesium? Have you noticed any change in measurables, such as BP, or do you simply feel better? Any recommendations for topical potassium and the amount used? If yu'd care to share how you use it I'd be interested to hear. Also any thing you would like to share about your experience with oral magnesium and its depleting effects on you. That was my experience as well and I would like to hear what happened with others who experienced similar. I started with a 200 mg tablet then increased dosage to 300 mg a couple of days later. Looking back on it, I began to feel weak the second day of dosing. I'm wondering if I started too high.

* I said recommendations for topical potassium. I meant topical magnesium.
