lynparza and psa

my dad has been on Lynparza for about a month - he has been on a low does to titrate and now since sept 17 the full dose- his PSA has consistently climbed not doubled and scans are/ were pretty stable-he has BRca somatic mutation- Does Lynparza lower your Psa and if so any one have experience on how long it takes to start seeing a decrease in Psa on lynparza - or is it something that shows stability on scans ? Just curious with those that have experience!

I too am BRCA2 positive. I have been on Lynparza since December. My PSA started to fall quickly and to .39 at about the 6 week mark at full dose. I went to 3/4 dose and still effective. I am currently on 1/2 dose and will see how effective it is after results of today's blood test. If you have any more questions feel free to ask

ok thank you- I’m

Just worried cause his went up 12 points but it’s only been three weeks and the Dr said he would

Like to give it about two months- he will get a scan too in a month and he also

Likes to focus on that and how he feels

Only SE I had with the Lynparza is low blood cell count which made it hard to breath when doing physical exertion. Initial scans showed no new growth with my mets

after 2 months my psa moved down just a little. 9.4 to 8.2 Onc said it could take 3 months to see results. BRCA 1 here

I can’t remember how long it took my husband’s to go down but he’s been on Lynparaza since September 2020. He started on the full dose and dose his has been reduced twice due to blood counts. He has an ATM mutation. His PSA is still undetectable and he is due for scans in a couple of weeks but so far they have been stable.

Glad to see others as myself benefitting from Lynparza. To be sure, it does attack the marrow, but hopefully only enough to be effective and not disabling for us that use it. I too have skated the edge of being anemic with my counts, just barely on the side of ok. But has definitely impacted stamina and durability in regard to physical activity. A trade off I guess for it's efficacy!

Question though, being as it's a new drug, is how long it can work, keep working for us. Hopefully longer than we need, lol! ;). I'm thankful everyday! :D

Best Regards!

it took about 4 weeks for me to see results. At first the PSA rise slowed then began to drop. The anemia is my scare now along with the fatigue and weakness I feel. I have been on lymparza for about 2months now.

unfortunately my journey with lynparza has not been as good as others here. It reduced my psa for two months then it slowly started to rise. I am still on it, and it is helping some but has not stopped progression. I am brca2 positive.

I am now undergoing provenge treatment.

Does it help with your scans even though the spa is going up cause my dads Dr said that can do that

I don’t have a new scan yet, probably a month or more before that, and the Provenge will be in play by then too.

My husband has been on Lynparza since February small dose then full dose by March. Before that he was on Orgovyx only after completely Pluvicto. Which was successful on some of the cancer that had metastasized on the back but was still having a lot of discomfort . He also tested positive for BRCA2 but was holding off till he really needed it and orgovyx kept his PSA down from 44.3 after pluvicto to 2.9 but started to go up in January of 2024 5.0 , 6.5, started on Lynparza and Orgovyz and by March 5.4 April 3.5 then got Covid in May stop everything for three weeks up to 4.0 but by June 13 back down to 2.6 July 2.1, August 2.0 but now in Sept 19, 5.3 and Oct 7 6.26 . During most of this time the pain in his back never got better till he went on Cymbalta 60 mg which finally gave him nerve relief . He has never taken anything but Tylenol or Advil . So now he is scheduled of PSMA scan on Wednesday to see if new spots are showing ? His doctor feels medication is working but need to supplement with radiation ? But he may need to lower his dose of Lynparza because the last 24 hours he has be en so sick he is not drinking or eating anything? I have read here it builds up and they might have to take a break or lower dose. I hope Lynparza works for your Dad its rough on their body but beats the alternative . To much information maybe but if I have learned a lot from everyone here.
