My husband has been taking 250mg of zytiga for the last 3 months. Psa was 4.69 and went down to 0.4. Tomorrow we are going to get the results for his nuclear total bone scan🙏🏻 He already has done various of treatments in the last 14 years. Prostatectomy, radiation, Lupron, chemotherapy, Pluvicto😔 The symptoms he has right now, is hot flushes and tired. Doing overall well🙏🏻 I hope this helps some how. Remember you are not alone, there is hope🙏🏻

How old is he? Is he also taking Prednisone? The usual dose of Zytiga is 1000 mg with either 5 or 10 mg Prednisone.

May be doing 250 mg with a meal.

Hi, he is 65. He's only taking 250mg of Zytiga no Predison. He does take it with food as dhccpa mentioned.Your are not alone🙏🏻

I think taking Zytiga with food increases the effect of a dose, and makes the effect less predictable depending on the time between eating and the amount of food. And I did not know Zytiga could be taken without Prednisone to replace lost cortisols. Is his 250 mg of Zytiga with food but without Prednisone prescribed by a doctor?

My husband didn't wanted any type of treatments anymore. We talked it out and he decided to take only a low dose of zytiga. The Oncologist agreed with it. It took about 4 to 5 months battle for the insurance to go through and finally accepted. Psa did dropped from 4.69 to .04🙏🏻 the good news is that even though he's not doing a full protocol of treatments, it's working for now. We gladly take it! If you read my post you can see all the treatments he has done for the last 14 years with highest PSA of 10.88. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. You are not alone, there's hope🙏🏻

so far I would say Lupron/Eligard is one of the biggest regrets for me. Hot flashes still and plenty more side effects still going on 5 years, (2-1/2 after last treatment). Not the same for all.

That's exactly how my Husband felt. He said that didn't wanted to go back to Lupron😔 even though he's with 250mg of Zytiga he's having hot flashes but not as often and severe. My best wishes for you. You are not alone🙏🏻

At my location, only 500mg dosage Zytiga (Abiraterone) is available. So I take one pill every alternate day with low fat yoghurt. I also take one 5mg Prednisone daily. I've been doing this for the last 4 years, PSA has remained at 0.01. I also do a Zoladex injection every 3 months.

Great news! I'm glad to hear that your PSA has remained undetectable for 4 years. I pray that it continues to be that way for many many years. You are not alone. There's hope 🙏🏻
