Hi everyone, Happy 4th of July🙏🏻 👏🇺🇲Well here is the update.
After my husband finished the Pluvicto treatment the psa never went down to 0 the lowest it got was .13 from 10.88
First 3 months without treatment, his psa began to rise.
Right now his PSA it's at 4.69😢
He had a PSMA scan, that didn't showed anything🙏🏻
He had a bone scan and a ct scan 2 weeks ago.
Monday we go for the results🙏🏻
He told the Oncologist he's tired of treatments and didn't want any more treatments😔 The Oncologist responded that in his 20 years of practice never had a patient saying this.
We talked about it at home and he agreed to have Zytiga. This was a back and for with the insurance cause they didn't understood why he wasn't having Lupron also. But thank God his Oncologist appel and went through.
He's only taken a low dose 250mg a day vs the 1000mg back in 2017.
I know this may not make sense but that's where we are at. He is the usual tired, but still able to walk/ run 3 miles everyday🙏🏻 God willing we are leaving next Wednesday for a 16 day British Cruise and also to celebrate the engagement of our only beautiful Daughter. Pluvicto can only treat mets which are visible on a PSMA PET/CT or a little bit smaller. But your husband probably has a number of these small mets. Also, there are mets which are NOT PSMA positive and therefore cannot be detected with a PSMA PET/CT. You can detect these with an Axumin scan, a choline scan or an FDG PET/CT. However, with a PSA value as low as 4.69, a FDG PET/CT may not detect these mets yet.
With no mets on a PSMA PET/CT I would not give up and stop treatment. I think he will continue to live for quite some time with the help of therapies.
Hi GP24, Before Pluvicto the PSMA only showed 2 suspicious small spots on his chest. They just assumed it was the cancer but didn't confirm it 100%. We'll see what the bone and CT scan show. I will talk to the Oncologist about the Axumin Scan, the last one he had was 7 years ago. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. The best to you. You re not alone🙏🏻
Chiquita this makes total sense to me. As a wife I respect my husband’s decisions about his psa as well as other things in life. We may not agree but bits his life his choices
I'm happy that he bought some time however little it was. I'm guessing he is not on Lupron due to the SE's? I just finished up six rounds of Ra-223 also with no positive results. Even though I mirror his sentiments, I started taking Xtandi again to possibly slow down the progression of the disease. Sending my best,
I found that stopping 3-month Lupron shots and replacing it with a daily pill - Orgovyx - was more tolerable. I had far fewer side effects. Supposedly much better on the heart, too. It is covered by insurance (Medicare). Might be an option to take with Zytiga. Perhaps your husband can discuss this as an option with his MO.
After a hormone therapy “holiday” that lasted 18-months, when I had a recurrence, my treatment plan at MD Anderson was Orgovyx + Erleada. (Before the holiday it was Lupron + Zytiga.)
Enjoy the cruise! And the wedding! I walked our daughter down the aisle last October! A blessing after fighting PCa for 9-years!

My husband also had 6 Pluvicto treatments which helped the cancer that showed up on the PSMA pet scan but he had both kinds so its really hard to say how much it really helped time wise per the doctor. So when the numbers started going up he didn't want to go back on Lupron because of side effects so went on Orgovyx pill form instead which was a game changer for him no side effects plus that kept numbers downs with the one medication . By the time they started to go up slowly he found out his Genetic test results and was BRCA2 and has started on Lynparza and still takes with Orgovyx. Hope you have a great trip but wear a mask don't want to spoil a good time but we planed to spend 19 days in London, Paris, Rome and Amalfi Coast five days into trip he was having so much pain we couldn't figure out what was wrong his doctor gave him the ok all test came out great. So we had to take a direct flight home from Paris and was put into the Hospital the next day septic with fever of 102. Come to fine out he got Covid. We never got the whole time we had no idea back pain was a system and sore throat . Three weeks it took him to get out of bed . Thank goodness we bought trip insurance we never do because I don't think it pays well. It worked we just got back 34,000.00 last week the main thing is he is still alive.

Im glad that you were able to get your money back.👍This has always been one of my fears when we travel that he will gets sick. Specially now that he is taking Zytiga. He's been fighting cancer since 2010. Even though he's with no mayor symptoms, I'm wondering how much his body can take😭 I see him extremely tired now since he started Zytiga. I've had axumin, pylarify scans and an MRI scan of the prostate. All showing no activity yet my PSA has slowly risen to 3.4. My Urologist first put me on finasteride but I had to quit it when it caused extreme dental sensitivity on left side top and bottom. He switched me to dutasteride. So far so good with that, I'll find out what my PSA reading is in a couple of weeks. I hope things go well for your husband.

To all the guys, make up a bucket list and start to get at it! I finally made it to the Mediterranean last month for 12 days, SIMPLY GREAT, even though the waves knocked me down as my stability is shot!! Beats sitting at home!

If your husband doesn't want to take Zytiga + prednisone, maybe he could try Xtandi. My dad wouldn't tolerate Zytiga but Xtandi is much better for him.
As others have already written, you husband could try Orgovyx as ADT.
