My husband's vomiting a lot

I never seem to read much on here about vomiting side effects. Mike goes through spells monthly (sometimes by monthly) where he can't keep anything down. This usually last about a week. But now since he's been on xtandi for almost a month, the vomiting seems to be getting worse. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Hes done docetaxel, and been on lupron for over a year. Psa started to rise while on lupron so they added xtandi. He has had a problem with vomiting though since diagnosis. That's the reason we went to hospital and found out his psa was in 1400's. It just seems to be getting worse. This Dr. we have now just keeps dismissing it. We have an appointment with new oncologist next week.

My husbands PSA was 1200 and he couldn't stop vomiting, that is how we discovered he had prostate cancer. He is back in the same position now since all treatment has failed.

That’s a hard quality of life. I’m on a defunct adt drug still that has caused me daily nausea for five years now. But that is a far cry from vomiting constantly .. THC helps to curb my nausea .. maybe it could help him also? Good luck 🍀

Yes, I can't imagine him not being able to smoke. That seems to help him most of all. Thank you

Me too . It’s Good that something helps us ? Any help in a storm ... sometimes if I drink a glass of water too fast I’m nauseous .. I can relate

Hey Whimsy, I'm in the same nausea boat. Can you tell me exactly what THC you are taking, like tincture, smoking, or edibles and how much? I just got cleared to use THC from the VA, but no other advice.

Sorry...Whimpy bad spell check, ever think of changing your name

😀

No offense taken . I used to be lulu700 I’ve changed it twice and can’t change it again . Sorry about bad spelling. ✌️

I like them all. Smoking a strong Indica in the morn quells nausea allowing me to eat and take pills with food . I’ve taken high thc home made Rso oil twice daily for over five years now . This gives me a high tolerance to thc. Edibles are fun. I did the recommended 60 grams in 90 days of strong oil during imrt . Then after again . Now I do a few drops in a cap twice daily .Too much can rock your world. You’ll find how to self dose by trial and error . You can’t o d. But you can sure fly higher than wanted . I can’t afford dispensaries so I have a friend donating me the flower . My first year using the oil I spent thousands $$ . You just need to know a grower where it’s legal? Otherwise pay thru the nose .. Good Luck 🍀

They put my husband on Marinol which helps somewhat. I really believe the high proteins are making him sick.

What high proteins?

My father had horrible problems with nausea when he had cancer. Zofran pretty much controlled it, but he also took Compazine and Decadron. If your state has medical cannabis, that is an excellent option. Talk to his oncologist.

Neither the Zofran nor the Compazine seem to help him. He does smoke Cannabis, and yes that seems to help a lot. Thank you

Sometimes the cancer causes inflammation of enteric tissues, which the Decadron can help with. It also has some anti-cancer benefit on its own.

We live in Cincinnati. His oncologist is Dr. Waterhouse. He was the one who originally saw Mike, but for insurance reasons we had to go somewhere else. Now we have different insurance so we're going back to Waterhouse because we liked him.
