As the chemo has now stopped working for Martin we are looking for any other options that might be available to give him more time.
His MO has organised a liquid biopsy to see if there are any mutations that could be treated, which might help.
We are also meeting a Radiologist to discuss radiotherapy. There has been some success of late by a once off radiation to the liver. This may also be an option.
A Canadian friend who had kidney cancer which metastasised to his lung told us of a drug called Axitinib. He had been given a prognosis of 4 months but got on a trial using this drug and 48 months later is still NED. Does anyone have any info on this? It may not be suitable for prostate neurodocerine cancer of the liver at all but just wondering and feeling a bit desperate.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks Tall_Allen. I didn’t think it would be of help but said I’d ask anyway. The radiotheraphy may help to stop the cancer growing and give Martin more time. He is still symptom free and apart from his bloods being low after the chemo which causes fatigue he is in good form and enjoying life . Thanks again.
Your upcoming meeting with a radiologist might be timely. Ask about Lutetium-177 (beta) and Actinium-225 (alpha). If he (or she) tells you they are not available in Ireland, there are plenty of places in Europe and elsewhere that offer targeted radionuclide treatment to treat neuroendocrine tumours and prostate cancer. Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Turkey and several others are all good options.
