I have an amazing ability to pick relevant podcasts while driving. Just had my blood work done in preparation of starting Pluvicto and not being able to choose wisely while driving I picked this podcast which i have heard before and have even advocated on this forum before. Dr Chetty is so brilliant and out of the box thinking that I felt I need to share it again. I do take ivermectin for whatever insane reason. Actually I started when doing chemo because i had read a few article (from major medical institution but not clinical trials) explaining the mechanisms by which ivermectin can add to the effectiveness of conventional chemo treatments.
This is not why I am suggesting this podcast again. Forget that it is in part (a lot of the middle to end of the cast) about Ivermectin. Some people think it is a wonder drug that can cure everything and others think it can only eliminate certain specific parasites. Forget all that, what impressed me is Dr. Chetty's discussion of intermittent fasting seasonal diets and other thoughts on how we evolved and why we are doing so poorly today.
Please listen to his introductory explanation of his theory of health. It is quite amazing. There are studies, finally, testing some of these hypotheses, in the conventional medical environment, clinical trials of the sort that "scientists" can support. Look on clinicaltrials.gov and look for intermittent fasting and other related topics. These idea are finally getting attention. For a trial to be done someone has to come up with a hypothesis to be tested. Dr. Chetty proposes several. We need to test all sorts of "rouge" ideas not just those that will "prove" that the drugs of big pharma are all that we have. And please consider that many drugs under investigation are old drugs repurposed and or derived from natural agents but re-packaged in ways that make them profitable to market. What we really need are trials instigated by disinterested parties and funded by public funds not commercial interests.
Listen to the introduction. There is no way that I will convince anyone that ivermectin has uses if they think that the only valuable information comes from" double blind" controlled clinical studies. This standard is quite new, called evidence based medicine and it is fraught with as many problem as other methods of investigation. The idea that only those methods developed in the past few years have any validity is appalling to me.
Lets start thinking outside of the "Big Pharma" box a little. If anyone can refute the logical thinking of Dr. Chetty with respect to his idea about our place in evolutionary history please explain. And if you think his idea are not worth investigation please also let me know.
