I had a follow-up appointment to my CT scan with my CO yesterday and as well as showing me those results, he told me the results of my last blood test. My PSA at Dx in April (before treatment) was 13.0 and I started a 4-week course of bicalutamide at the beginning of July, then had my first Prostap injection on July 15th. The blood test was taken on July 27th, i.e. less than two weeks after the injection and the PSA was down to 2.3 already.
This seems like a rapid reduction just a fortnight after the first ADT injection - is this typical/expected? Does anyone have similar readings to compare with mine? Thanks.

I went from PSA 7.3 (too many skeletal metastases to count) to 0.3, in one month on Apalutamide (Bicalutamide 2.0), plus, Lupron & Xgeva. After 3 more months holding at 0.2.
When I started my first round of ADT my PSA dropped from 56 to 2.8 in about one month. I was on Bicalutumide for 2 weeks and then Lupron during that time. I subsequently added Zytiga and went to undetectable in about 6 months. It’s good you’re responding well.
Thanks, yes I've noticed that some say they tolerate Zytiga better and others (like you) say Xtandi is easier to tolerate. I guess I'll find out which camp I'm in when I start on one or the other. Insurance cover is not an issue as I'm in the UK on the NHS. My CO plans to put me on Xtandi but there is a clinical trial (Amplitude) that I might be eligible for that would require me to be on Zytiga instead. My biopsy sample has been sent for genetic testing to see if I am eligible.
Been on zytiga 50gms daily prednisone 5gm 18months. with 6 monthly protrap ( 6 months ) then 3x monthly for a year PSA reduced rapidly in first 3 months now last year has been below 0.01 hot flushes my main problem but now taking cider vinegar tablets to help situation. Glad to see your similar reduction as me Benkaymet good luck !
Chemo was mentioned as an option but I'm not happy to do that at present on top of ADT and AR which is likely to give me enough SEs to contend with.
You’re Going in the proper direction…keep it falling down to undetechable …It is possible to push pc away for many years . I’ve been clear 7 yrs now . 💪✌️
I Did a lot of alt med with 50 gram vitamin c ivs my first 18 months plus 8 weeks imrt and Lupron and Tak —700( similar to zytiga I think) ..live healthy! ✌️🕺
My father's PSA dropped from around 500 to 2.5 in 4 months. It has been a rather slow decline ever since. It has taken 12 months for PSA to fall from 2.5 to 0.4 and although still falling I am not sure why the initial fall was so fast and then so slow.
