Bicalutamide

Hello, Wondering if anyone has just been on bicalutamide by itself (without the hormone injections) as a form of treatment?

Has anyone used Bicalutamide & Dutasteride for keeping localized PCa stable during AS?

Bicalutamide for a month then Lupron 3 monthly injections. I asked my NHS consultant whether this time around I could have Orgovyx instead of the above drugs. I know Orgovyx has recently been approved by NICE so an alternative [u]at last[/u] to Lupron.

Anyone had similar thoughts or experiences from SARMs in conjunction with Bicalutamide?

I read here some do enzalutamide alone without ADT or bicalutamide alone and have low psa numbers even with their testasterone being very high Whereas for those on ADT and ARSi both they say the testosterone numbers should be low and lower the better. Can someone throw some light on this 😊

Early in my diagnosis ( approx. 6 years ago) I was on Bicalutamide. It was ineffective and switched to Abiraterone.

The Oncologist put me on Bicalutamide 2020 till 2023. Further i had Radiotherapy to prostrate and lymph towards the end of 2020. PSA was 10.5 in Oct 2023. I am on Zoladex from Nov 2023 till date. My previous PSA was 0.6 in July 2024 and latest PSA was 4.0 Dec 2024.

He’s still living his life fairly normally, on Lupron and Bicalutamide, which he cycles on and off, due to anaemia. That gave me tremendous hope, especially as medications have come on so much since then. Maybe others know of similar longevity with a metastatic at diagnosis situation?

Bicalutamide for the first 28 days, then suspended. This, apparently, is SOC in Italy. question: why is triplet therapy not being considered in my dad’s case? I messaged the MO about docetaxel and Darolutamide, no response.

Bicalutamide mono therapy worked great for nearly three years. PSA <0.1, T~300-400. Starting Dec. 2023 PSA began rising. Tried Lupron Depot in July. PSA has continued to rise. Now at 2.7.

Initially the plan was to do lupron and he was started on bicalutamide 100 mg daily , which he took for 3 weeks uptil 7th June. But then we decided to go with relugolix and not lupron and the bicalutamide was stopped. He has been taking only Relugolix from 8th June.

One MO says to stop the bicalutamide since starting relugolix and the other MO says to continue bicalutamide along with relugolix Any thoughts

Fatigue from bicalutamide I recommended starting darolutamide and hold bicalutamide once darolutamide arrives. Thank you!

I've requested relugolix instead of bicalutamide/ lupron for ADT, Relugolix is now mandated by NICE in the UK for locally advanced hormone sensitive PC, as of 14th August 2024. So the NHS must ensure that it is being offered as an option.

I did one year on Bicalutamide, 150mg daily, that ended April 2019. To date, no ADT nor chemo. Grateful beyond words! All the best to all of us!

I was on bicalutamide monotherapy three years. My testosterone vas very high (1500) and was surprised why reaserchres and doctors didnt try to lower it. I had not tools to do my own experiment until Orgovyx appeared. Two years ago I was ready to buy Orgowyx in USA but it was impossible.

• My PSA began to rise slowly, and when it reached 1.16 in April 2023, I was placed on Bicalutamide and Orgovyx. However, the PSA continued to increase, prompting my oncologist to replace Bicalutamide with Erleada.

However, because of the pituitary surgery, he is now not allowed to have the hormone injections, but could potentially be suitable for hormone tablets, such as bicalutamide.

He was given bicalutamide for 30 days on June 20th and got his Lupron shot for 3 months. Just have been told he is probably gonna get RT soon. I appreciate any advice
