Throughout my life as an athlete, I have always worked out and continue to do so. I have also always tended to run hot and sweat a lot. I am now 15 months into ADT and hot flashes have been epic. Every 1 to 2 hours - full body flop sweats for 3-5 minutes. I have gone to wearing black shirts so it doesn't show too much.
MO has prescribed Paxil, Effexor and something else that didn't work, I tried magnesium and bee pollen all to no avail. I finally tried acupuncture - he had mentioned this the first time I complained and have just now tried it. In Atlanta, we have a large Asian population in the NE area of the burbs. I got hooked up with a great practice used by the Falcons, Braves etc.
After 6 treatments, my episodes have been reduced greatly. Instead of every 1-2 hours, now maybe every 3-5 hours and when they happen, the severity is greatly reduced. I have 1 more treatment before I go overseas for a 3 week vacation - looking forward to seeing how long the effect last!
