anyone suffering from frequent Nausea

7 yrs. + on firmagon and switched to lupron 8 months ago. Everything stable with the stage 4 PC.

Can handle the hot sweats, low energy and no libido. My biggest problem is frequent nausea .

Just wondering if anyone else has the same side effect and how they deal with it.

I have never had any radiation or chemotherapy.

Would be happy to hear any recommendations πŸ‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Are you saying the nausea started after the switch or you have always had nausea?

I have always had it on and off with firmagon, when I switched it stayed away for about 7 months. It is now back again πŸ™

I do not have any experience with your particular issue, but looking around on the internet i read

1) have your dr check your liver enzymes

2) prescription meds for nausea

3) smaller meals/try different meals see how you react. Try to isolate the problem food.

I am sorry you are dealing with this issue.

Hi, I don't have any info about the nausea, but am curious why you switched from Firmagon to Lupron?

I switched because I now winter in florida and the MO suggested a 3 month lupron vs a 28 day firmagon shot . Wow soo happy I did testosterone dropped from 44 back down to <3 and no injection site discomfort. My psa also staying between 1.5 and 2 . Throughout my journey my psa has never been undetectable.

PS

Not techy don’t ask me why everything is underlined πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ·πŸŽΌ

It may sound unrelated but Covid vaccination can cause nausea. In parallel with our APCa treatments, we (at least in principle) should get the latest vaxx boosters, shingles too. How to separate the possible side effects? Dunno. Have you tried benadryl or dramamine? (Run them by your MO first of course.)

Careful with the benadryl. I've seen it on a list of meds that can have a negative impact on your brain.

Let me tell you how I did handle nausea the last, almost 4 years, on ADT / Zytiga + Pred.: First thing in the morning I do gymnastics: 3 min on a stationary bike, 3 min on a small trampoline, 3 min on a crosstrainer, 30 push-ups, 30 knee-bends, dumb-bell training and finally jump rope (50 times). After these exercises I can be sure there is no nausea left. Afterwards I have a shower and then breakfast. Try it, perhaps it helps…

Wow. You can do 30 pushups? Fantastic. Keep it up.

My wife takes a boatload of meds every day and suffers from nausea. She says that Sugar free Queasy Drops really help. They are available on line. I think Amazon.

They give them out free for chemo patients at the Medical Oncologist office. This is where she first tried them. They come in various flavors and different forms from lollipops to candy size which you can put in your pocket.

This might help!

Ondansetron for the nausea episodes and omeprizole daily. Everyone is different YMMV

Thank you, I do that daily along with tums . It does help but not completely

Yes I take omeprazole, a stomach acid reducer. I have a hiatal hernia that would produce horrible heartburn without the acid reducer.
