sulfonylureas .. metformin and adt question

One of my bp - bg nurses wants to add a sulfonyluera to my metformin to enhance bg control from the instability caused by my adt. ( grimepiride ). Looking on the web I find an array f seemingly contradictory information ...

But much of it says using sulfonylureas with adt increases the mortality rate in men using them. My question , and of course not asking for direct medical advice... just information, is what does the voluminous knowledge base here on the group know about this subject if anything ... maybe some personal experiences etc. I’m due to start glimepiride in a day or two when it arrives in the mail. Any information , recommendations , experience .... anything ... would be much appreciated.

Thank you brothers, hope you are staying safe in this coronavirus soup.

💪💪💪👍👍👍

I probably shouldn't chime in, but your post caught my eye.

My husband hasn't taken any sulfonylureas, but has ADT & Metformin (besides radiation), so not much help with anything to add that you probably don't already know with those two.

Another thing that caught my eye & I told him about is the recent Metformin recall. Concerning to me, as if y'all don't have enough to worry about. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I feel worth sharing, at least:

fda.gov/safety/recalls-mark...

Wishing you the best, whatever your medication decision...🕊️🙏

Hi Debbie ...er ... ah ... Siouxbee yayahahahaya Haven’t seen you in a while, I’ve kinda been on the “ down -low “ and dealing with putting out fires and chasing the usual PCa crap. Sometimes things are fairly quiet ... others not so much. It’s a “ not so much “ period right now.

Thankee for the information... I had actually seen that, probably stumbled across it Searching for por_ ........ er ........

ah ..... religious materials, .. yea that’s it . Yayahahahaya

That warning was about a chemical contaminant that was discovered in a certain brand of time release metformin capsules. Fortunately I’m not using those yet. Sounds interesting tho ... wonder how close the NDMA molecule is to the MDMA molecule .....

Yayahahaha.

Good to see you again, hope you are staying holed up and safe.

I appreciate it 💪💪💪👍👍

You may have already seen this base-line approval documentation for the drug you are about to start.

Wow .. yikes .... that hits me negatively on so many levels ... leaves me speechless. Primary would be the cardiac ones , but it’s hard to pick a favorite. Yayahahahaya thank you so much brother.

Seems prudent to push metformin to the limit to try to live without adding in anything else, especially “ that “ !!! I’m up to 2000mg but can go to 2550 tops after I adapt to this new level ( nausea and diarrhea ).

I appreciate it ✌️✌️✌️

Yayahahahaya not many men can write their name in the dirt sitting down ( and without getting your pants wet ) ..... just say’in. 😂😂😂

it’s a rabbits foot on a keychain but looks odd here yayahahahaya. Knowing me back then , I may have done it on purpose.

I was a civilian biomedical engineer at Darnall Army Hospital, Ft. Hood, Tx. 99% of the men in town had short nearly shaved strac military hair cuts. A man with “ this “ look made the ladies swoon and a “ lot “ more.

Married my current wife there 42 years ago ( the very rebellious daughter of the commander of the western region PX system. ). In Killeen Tx life was simple , you were either a GI ( most of the population ) , a cowboy or a hippie. Life was simpler back then. We all probably wish we had a time machine ...huh ?

😂😂😂😂
