hi all,

so my dad has been diagnosed with small cell carcinoma (mets on liver) along with metastatic stage 4 PC (gleason score 4+3). He was diagnosed with PCa in November - started triplet therapy right away (Docetaxel, Enzalutamide & degarelix) his PSA dropped to negligible from over 200.

he started experiencing pain in his abdomen last month or so. Upon further investigation it was found that the cancer has spread to his liver. His liver functions came out perfectly alright but the pain. So the doc put him on abiratrone now. After his latest PSMA PET scan doc has confirmed the cancer is progressing and since its small cell carcinoma & PCa - we don’t have much time he says. He has said my dad has 9-12 months if we do chemo and even lesser if we don’t.

Anyone in the same boat, pls share your experience and what treatments worked for you. I don’t believe its the end of the road for him. Looking for some hope.

We are in India - any doctor suggestions are welcome.

Discuss adding carboplatin to his chemo cocktail.

they have started Atezolizumab with Etoposide + cisplatin. Is that the correct course in your opinion?

I am sorry to hear this story. The experience I have with enzalutamid is good but there severe side effects to this drug. Become more fragile and less energized. Better possible options are psa linked antibody radioactive therapy since the tumors are spreading. Wishing you all the best

the carboplatin + etopiside worked well for my father. He also did radiation to pelvis at stage 4. He’s still here 5 years later but now have progressed.
