Finished ADT /Orgovyx One month ago..I took it for only 4 months..How long until Testosterone is back to baseline with only 4 months use?I am in the process (hopefully) of getting my testosterone back to baseline..I need to lose weight (15 lbs) as I am having debilitating sciatica back pain from extra weight gain during 4 month Orgovyx use. ..Is it possible to lose this weight with ADT suppressed testosterone even though it should be coming back..Has anyone had sciatica exacerbated by ADT/ORGOVYX..All recommendations welcome..thanks

Everyone is different, but probably a couple months. I was on Orgovyx for 6 months, gained 30 lbs., hot flashes stopped three months after last pill.

My weight is still high, but my energy, normal male aggressiveness, etc. is all back to normal after three months. Trying to eat normal and follow the Mediterranean diet.

I have been taking Orgovyx for four months now and have actually lost 10-15 pounds. In addition to the usual ADT side effects, which have been minimal in my case, I have noticed my appetite has decreased. However, I do not necessarily attribute this to the ADT. I also power walk 2 miles everyday which may be contributing to the weight loss.

During my 6 months of being on Orgovyx I lost 15 pounds with an intermittent fasting diet and extensive walking (70-100 miles per month).

Unfortunately we need to eat significantly less on ADT to break even since testosterone suppression slows metabolism.

This is If our level of activity is the same, which it usually isn’t. How much do you exercise and what kind?

I’m 63, still on Zytiga and orgovyx and had to loose 20 lbs. I did it slowly, over three months. I had to track everything I ate (MyFitnessPal app) and changed my diet to nothing but Mediterranean style. I was pretty tough adjustment for me but it worked. Im now in maintenance mode but still on Mediterranean diet and I’m sure I will be for life. I walked a lot and lifted weights twice a week.

I did this with the help from a nutritionist from MDAnderson.

It sucked but worth it.

you may want to try ping shui (arm swinging). It did wonders for my back

I endured so much pain from my prostate surgery, exercise was off my radar. Two years later I had ADT plus radiation which burned my urethra. More pain.

Fast forward another year and I had a surgery to fix what the prostate surgeon did to get relief of the pain from what he caused. Lost most of my muscle mass.

I eventually went under the knife to shut down testosterone. I use intermittent fasting to control my weight, and it works well for me. It is hard at first, but it gets easier over time.

Lost 12 pounds. Exercise, weights, walking and only two smaller meals a day were the key.

No magic pill. Diet and exercise. Stretching to help with back issue.

I didn't want to wait after stopping ADT. Being PSA undetectable for 16 months during treatment, I chose to get my T back. I have continued both good T level (with injections) and barely detectable PSA for over 1 year. Good luck to you!

did your t ever come back on its own...which adt?

I was told that at 72 and after 18 months of Lupron and Zytiga, that it was unlikely that my T would ever return.

I've been on Orgovyx for 8 months now. Plan on quitting at 18 months, which would be one year after completing radiation. PSA maintained at undetectable. Hot flashes have become minimal and when they do occur, I just power through, they never last long. Muscle loss and fatigue are my two biggest issues, and now I'm noticing brain fog. I ride a road bike 12 miles every morning and my work, building custom camper vans has me on my feet and physically active all day, every day. Libido is non-existent, and at this point, I don't even remember how to correctly say the word "erection." What is an erection?

It is my understanding that once off Orgovyx, your testosterone should return sooner than it would with Lupron.

I had 2 3 months Lupron Depot in 2020 and my PSA =<0.01μ/L and Testosterone =2.4 nmol/L or 60.5186 ng/dL as of July 2023 7th.

were you on lupron...and what was the reason your doc says that the testosterone did not return? you were only on it for 6 months? sounds unusual to not return?

My husband started Xtandi about a month ago and seems to have developed sciatica as well. Very painful.
