Testosterone recovery was evaluated in a substudy of 184 patients who completed 48 weeks of treatment2*
90 days after treatment discontinuation, 55% of 137 men treated with ORGOVYX had their testosterone return to above the lower limit of the normal range (>280 ng/dL) or baseline values1,4*
3% of 47 men treated with leuprolide had their testosterone return to above the lower limit of the normal range (>280 ng/dL) or baseline values 90 days after discontinuation4
This endpoint was analyzed for exploratory purposes without formal testing. The data from the leuprolide arm were not included in the US Prescribing Information for ORGOVYX
I’m sure everyone is different. But I’ve been on two ADT vacations. The first time, my T returned to baseline 8 months after my last Lupron shot. The second time, it returned to baseline 4 weeks after my last Orgovyx pill.
Hi Murph - may I ask how long you were on Lupron? Did your MO suggest shifting to Orgo or did you ask for it? My MO says Orgo long term results are not documented like Lupron.
My T returned to baseline 3 months after end of last 3 month Lupron (6 months after shot) and 2 months after stopping Zytiga. T return is different for many but slower return may mean longer vacations so kind of a catch 22.
Hi - Curious -So was it just one L shot? are you going back to Lupron and Zytiga then? Got my first 3 month Lupron 3 weeks ago and eager about options. How was your SE when you added the Zytiga dosing to the Lupron? Thx
Yes it was a high PSA, so they always suspected more disease than the scans showed and PSMA wasn't even mentioned at the time. Axumin was refused by insurance and the Drs said it would not change treatment so no point paying out of pocket. Not sure that part makes sense in retrospect but is what it is.
My T is 87 one month after 4 months of Orgovyx. Well below baseline. I only have one testicle which may be part of the reason for slower recovery time🤷🏻♂️
one thing these studies never look into is the level of T below which you have symptoms (eg fatigue, hot flashes, brain fog) which is what matters. It’s always castration as defined below a baseline vs full recovery but in reality there is a range to recovery. In other words, what percent recover to 100ng or 150 ng or 200 ng, all below the baseline but still significant. And when is enough to avoid (most or all) symptoms? Unless you know this, these stats make things look worse than they are in reality.
