Testosterone on the rise ?

Hello All , I just received my lab scores from University of Chicago . I have been <7 ng/dl for 17 months . My testosterone came in at 64 ng/dl . My PSA is still at <0.03 ng/ml . All other blood work is stable . Im freaking out here . Could this be a lab error or is this the time that it gets serious ? Thank You , JJ

Are you currently on ADT? Is your concern that your T is too high?

prior to going on my medication vacation my T had been running very low, like yours. The it jumped to over 50. I did a retest right away and it was back to very low again. The high value was thought to be a testing error.

Have you stopped hormone therapy now?

I don't know why you're "freaking out" - undetectable PSA is a wonderful result.

Hello Allen , My Testosterone is the issue . Lab results today were psa <0.03 . My T is at 64 ! yes I am on Eligard and Zytiga 250mg , and 5mg of pred . My T has been a constant <7 for 17 months till today . Thats why im freaking out .

As you know, I'm not a fan of taking 250mg abiraterone with food - too much uncertainty in the absorbed dose. Maybe discuss taking the full 1000mg/day fasting dose? Also, consider switching from Eligard shots to daily Orgovyx pills to get your testosterone down.

But your PSA so far looks great!

Hello Bdale , Yes Im with Dr. S . I also have my MO at Hines V.A. . I talk to Dr.S tomorrow morn at 7am . I will sak him if I should do the 1000mg of Abi instead of the 250mg . Been doing the 250mg for 17 months so why now with the 64 T score ? we will see . Thanks

retest in a few days. If it is high again , they might gave you 3 months shot instead of 6 months shot

I just called V.A. and they gave me the 45mg of Eligard . Thats the 6 month injection . Thanks

then most likely it is a lab error, but I would retest again even out of pocket

Stop taking DHA or DHEA if you are taking either of those. One time my testosterone went up from about 10 to about 70 because of that.
