Dx Stage IV metastatic PCa with distant metastices to bones and para-aortic lymph node string on July 2, 2018. Still HS and on a year + medication holiday, PSA undetectable. Initially told I had 18 months to live!

Indeed. Medication is making such progress. They are now even testing two drugs. One is even more powerful than the second gen hormone therapy. The other is immuno developed for the most aggressive cancers, which would include prostate. Now approved for testing by FDA.

As Dr. Scholz encouragingly says, there are more treatment the longer you wait. Something to that effect.

Dont mind me. I am a layman. 😊

Congrats friend! Keep on keepin’ on!

That's great to hear. How did you convince your doc to approve a " vacation"

She, Dr Eleni Efstathiou, suggested it. She was with MD Anderson for a long time and moved to Houston Methodist. I followed her there. One benefit we had hoped for would be T recovery. Unfortunatly that hasn’t happened. I have a video conference with her this month and will be interested in where we go from here.

I wonder why so many are against Vacationing. 4 Years of Eligard, Xgeva, Zytiga and Prednisone have taken quite a toll on me. Yet, my doc says no vacation and no estradiol patch.

That's why you never take the "time to live" seriously. It means only that some men die really quickly but some men live a long time. Live a long time!!

I’m 17 months with an initial PSA of 935. It’s now undetectable at 0.01. On the triple therapy. Had 6 sessions of chemo, get lupron every 3 months, take Zytiga and prednisone daily. I exercise at least 4 days a week and eat vegan with some fish. Fatigue comes and goes. Hot flashes not too bad since I figure out how a portable fan can be my best friend. Otherwise all is good.

Cheers my friends
