Five days of fever

Hubby has had a fever up to 102 the past five days. Down in the morning to 99 creeping back up mid afternoon, soaking wet at night.

Had his last chemo June 13th. Awaiting next steps. Having some discomfort in right rib area.

Will see Dr Tagawa Tuesday and also are living part time in Cambridge so have gotten Dr Sweeney on board.

Any thoughts on the fever? Could just be a summer flu but with everything else it’s hard to know!

Thanks!

It is my understanding that if you are on chemo and run a fever you are to go immediately to the emergency room. Please take care

I agree about urgent care. I realize you are not technically still in the post-chemo zone, but 102 is a very high fever for an adult. He could have an opportunistic infection like a UTI and you are not seeing traditional symptoms because of the immunosuppression.

Please humor us and take him now. It's a bit late for antivirals if it is the flu, but they still may want to try.
