Abstract

Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing vascular beds, is essential for tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. Luteolin is a common dietary flavonoid found in fruits and vegetables. We studied the antiangiogenic activity of luteolin using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models.

Luteolin (10 mg/kg/d) significantly reduced the volume and the weight of solid tumors in prostate xenograft mouse model, indicating that luteolin inhibited tumorigenesis by targeting angiogenesis. CD31 and CD34 immunohistochemical staining further revealed that the microvessel density could be remarkably suppressed by luteolin. Moreover, luteolin reduced cell viability and induced apoptosis in prostate cancer cells, which were correlated with the downregulation of AKT, ERK, mTOR, P70S6K, MMP-2, and MMP-9 expressions. Taken together, our findings demonstrate that luteolin inhibits human prostate tumor growth by suppressing vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2-mediated angiogenesis.

You're welcome. I bought a bottle of Luteolin. Each tablet is 100mg. Thus, according to the study, I'd need to take 7 tablets per day for it to have the effect of the results mentioned in the study. 10mg/kg/d. I just started today by taking one tablet. I haven't been able to discern where they got the en-vivo human data to support their recommendation for humans. Do you see it anywhere?

Thanks for the post. That dose just appears to be the dose used on the mice. I take 500mg twice daily.

My question is does anyone know if taking artemisinin, Luteonin and quercetin is redundant? As in they all accomplish the same supposed benefit, or are they unique in their efficacy?

Fanger said he was able to get quercetin IVs. I've read that works well, as well as Mistletoe IVs. I just dont know where to get them. I'm going to contact Fanger's IV doc.

I read that post before and I just read it again. I agree with your hypothesis that they didnt take into account the garbage food that was eaten with some of the healthy. I eat almost everything on those lists, but in the raw or healthy way, not mixed with other unhealthy crap. thanks again

Luteolin may have( slightly?) more indications for possible anti-cancer effect, on the other hand I can only find evidence of quercetin being a zinc ionosphere. From the list rsgdmd gave, I would go for 3-4 liposomal caps daily of FibroProtek, 150/85 mg luteolin/quercetin. Any arguments for other doses/brands?

FibroProtek (& others) are derived from grapefruit. Wonder if that's an issue if taking simvastatin.....

Can the quantity of grapefruit in a cap of FibroProtek be determined? If it has an effect, in principle it should be balanced by lowering the dose.

I take pitavastatin, which has some promising anti-pca data.. Even more when combined with metformin.

Currently, healthcare professionals advise it is safe to drink grapefruit juice and eat grapefruit if you're taking other types of statins"
