Quercetin targets hnRNPA1 to overcome enzalutamide resistance in prostate cancer cells

"The suppression of AR-V7 by quercetin resensitizes enzalutamide-resistant prostate cancer cells to treatment with enzalutamide. Our results indicate that quercetin downregulates hnRNPA1 expression, downregulates the expression of AR-V7, antagonizes androgen receptor signaling, and resensitizes enzalutamide-resistant prostate cancer cells to enzalutamide treatment in vivo in mouse xenografts. These findings demonstrate that suppressing the alternative splicing of the androgen receptor may have important implications in overcoming the resistance to next-generation anti-androgen therapy."

There was a thread on this 2 years back. Such a jolt to see posts from Neal & Dan:

thanks,

hopefully everyone knows of the benefit of taking Quercetin.

I would think taking Quercetin before becoming CRPCa would help delay or even prevent resistance to enzalutamide

Quercetin according to Life Extension:

"an adjuvant prostate cancer dosage is 1,000-3,000 milligrams daily. (The lower dosage of 500 milligrams daily is currently being tested in a double-blind, human clinical trial on the effect of quercetin on the rate of increase in PSA and on the incidence of prostate cancer, but these results are not expected to be available until 2014 [Bischoff 2012]). along with Quescetin you may consider taking Boron 9 mg daily / D3 10,000 and K2 among your other supplements -- and see about adding Avadart if you aren't already taking it.
