Rising PSA after chemo finished.

Hello,

First I should appreciate your attempts to help people in this outstanding site.

I am so confused about my dad rising PSA after 8 chemo sessions finished in August. In March my dad PSA was 60. The order of PSA during chemo period were 22, 16, 10, 9, 13, 14.7 and 14.6. But the last PSA test, 4 weeks after the last chemo session was 45. Also after the last session, my dad health is so bad. He lost so much weight bout 33 pounds, has no appetite and balance issue.

Please could some one help me why PSA has been triple after 4 weeks. We took blood test after PSMA pet, is there a chance that there is an interfere between these two test?

Before chemo my dad had been taking Abiraterone a month between.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

He qualifies for Pluvicto now. Where is he?

Thanks. We are in Iran. Yes we have access to Pluvicto. But I am so concern about his health. He is not very well. Can he tolerate this treatment or should stay for few months to get better?

They have to do bloodwork to make sure he can tolerate it.

It looks like chemo stopped working when for the last three infusions the PSA is rising. Why did they keep up with it? Was it Docetaxel?

Thank you for your response. Yes it was Docetaxel. But there is no other treatment except Pluvicto in our country. Honestly, I don’t know. I wish I stopped it myself after 5th session.

dear Samani- please don’t start thinking or wishing of all the things you could have-should have- would have done differently. We all make the best decisions we can with the information we have at the time. This is hard enough without second-guessing!!!

Please have faith that you are being a good, conscientious partner warrior in your dad’s battle. You are a good daughter!

Sorry to hear about your Dad ,has he been tested for bowl cancer or showing any signs and symptoms .Seems to have lost a lot of weight?

That is very kind of you. I don’t think so. He had fistula-induced by radiotherapy and we had to do Fistulotomy after 6th session chemo. Do you think this lost weight because of it? I have another concern about his liver enzymes. In the last test, AST was 29 and ALT was 11. De Ritis ratio is too high. Sorry but I am full of stress, is there a chance of liver metastasis?

Someone asked if I had any advice; you have me confused with someone else. I have not had chemo.

Best wishes for a great outcome.
