Using transdermal E2

Ronron's posts about using E2 instead of ADT have been interesting.

Who else has used? If so:

1. Has anyone switched from using Lupron (or any 1st or 2nd level ADT, such as Firmagon, abiraterone, etc.) directly to transdermal E2?

2. Has anyone who has used it eventually become castrate resistant, as with ADT?

3. Has anyone been on transdermal E2 only for more than five years without failure, especially with distant metastases?

4. Has anyone been able to purchase Oestrogel (Ronron's brand) or its equivalent in the USA?

I tried PATCH trial protocol for ADT alternative for adjuvant ADT to SRT because I am intolerant to Lupron/Eligard. The patches (4 at a time) were more inconvenient than gel would be. You can find an equivalent dose supplying the same amount (4 X 0.10mg estradiol/ 24 hours). It worked fine. Tamoxifen prevented any gynecomastia.

how long were you on E2? Did it stop working, or did you continue through the post-SRT period?

I used it successfully for one year. After that testosterone and estrogen both increased and PSA too moved upward. Now for the last three months I am on bicalutamide mono therapy and PSA is undetectable.
