Swollen feet with some intermittently mild increase in neuropathy.

After nearly a year of very limited mobility, pre and post chemo, I’ve been trying to regain some strength and stamina by gradually walking more and spending more time up and about while in and around the home. Initially needed to get some PT for knees, but recently am experiencing some swelling in the feet and an intermittent mild increase in neuropathy too, in both feet and the dominate hand.

Eligard and Abiraterone with prednisone continue to be my current meds while in the HS/CS status. Hoping this is primarily due to pushing myself activity wise, more than a side effect from meds; and wondering if maybe compression hosiery might be helpful for some brief length of time. A knee brace helped prior to and during PT in overcoming that previous ailment.

Also wondering if Eligard might be ‘harder’ on the heart than a different ADT drug?

The Prednisone might be the cause of the swollen feet.

Hi Shams. The antagonist ADT drugs have better cardiovascular risk profiles than Lupron or Eligard. They are Firmagon (monthly shot) or Orgovyx (daily pills but expensive).

BTW high dose prednisone can cause swelling, but not the low doses that are used in conjunction with abiraterone. I like walking with my compression stockings. Order mine from Bioskin.

Ask for some lazix.....

Talk with your Cardiologist. Fluid retention is a major culprit. My long time foot pain went away with Lasik paired with Potassium Chloride when I shed fluid.
