Staying alive huh huh huh staying alive….just got my 3 months blood test psa .02 down from 79 one year ago…one day at a time enjoying every day like it could be my last xtandi and lupron seem to be doing their jobs…overall feeling pretty good but I have noticed my golf game has fallen not getting the distance I used… but thankful I can still play… peace and good health to all… diagnosis stage 4b

How'd you happen to go with Xtandi instead of generic abiraterone? Just curious, since big difference in price.

Medicare plan C it will cost me 7000 out pocket for the year…

Yes, that's why I was asking. So what reason did your doc give you for prescribing such a more expensive drug instead of the much cheaper generic abiraterone?

MO said it was a better drug I was and still am a little skeptical but since it is working I don’t necessarily want to mess with it…

Abiraterone until it fails and then switch to enzalutamide works better and longer than the opposite sequence. Having some chemo in between probably even better if appropriate and you are willing. See T_A’s summary of research from clinical trials on treatment sequencing. Just info to consider. No wrong answer.
