Well this year is starting out a little better that 2021, I celebrated (or dreaded 7 yrs at stage 4). Mid last year I had to stop Jevtana as the side effect became unbearable. We did the genetic testing and found I had a very high tumor burden which qualified me for Ketruda. I responded well to Keytruda and my PSA had dropped from 34 to 7 and then slowly ticked up to 46 3 weeks ago. I had to stop Keytruda around the first of the year as side effects prevented me from walking and it gave my joints ached liked crazy.
So we had done another genetic test and I have the BRACA 2 mutation and I started Lynparza early Feb. after two weeks my PSA has remained at 46. So while my PSA has not dropped yet, my PSA doubling time has stopped for now. So I’ll keep posting on how Lynparza works for me or what the next treatment will be.
Hang tough and stay positive! I know its hard when you hurt, and feel like crap but you are here with people who care.
P.s. just had a pain pump installed a week ago. So weaning off of my methadone and will be keeping the pump. So far good results on pain control.

They are using morphine in the pump but it’s much lower levels than in pill form. I have used both Fentanyl patches and then methadone pills. When I worked with the pain clinic they recommended the pump for someone with my pain. So far so good.
Glad your having a better year Jack. Curious, how many Genetic tests did you have until your tumor burden became high and showed the mutations? My husband has had 3 tests so far and tumor burden is still low and won't show any mutations.
Also BRCA2. Was successfully on Lynparza for close to 2 years. PSA was undetectable until it ran its' course. Only took a few weeks to get to undetectable.
If you don't mind sharing, what treatments followed your course of Lynparza. Asking for a friend who is now on it and planning ahead to Plan B. Thanks.
